I'm still sick from that game last night. My buddies were telling me that I should be glad they fought so hard, which I am, but I'm more angry about the choices down the stretch. Why the hell were they throwing on that 2nd down instead of running with Westbrook? Then throwing where he did on several occasions were horrible decisions by Feeley. He did make a lot of nice plays, but he always makes these crazy passes. We had every opportunity to win the game, but we didn't. I'm pissed.
Your right but feeley gives a better chance to win i think.Mcnabb is just to banged up right now feeley can play i dont think we would of been in this game if mcnabb started. So right now i still think feeley gives us a better shot of winnign the game but he did have 3 bad pass but his stats were just as good as bradys and had a high passer rating than i think mcnabb had all year.
I agree that McNabb is probably too banged up, but I'm just pissed right now at Feeley's mistakes. Sure he really kept us in the game at times, but he also lost it for us. You can't give the Pats an easy 6 or make that horrible decision down by 3 in FG range. Throw the ball away or hit the open LJ Smith underneath. Btw, McNabb had a perfect QB rating in the Lions game. Edit: Just checked. McNabb had 5 games this season with a higher QB rating than Feeley did last night.
it's hard to be pleased with a close game when you know you could and more than likely should have won the game, but i'm hoping this can be similar to the colts game last year. mcnabb goes down, and though we go to 5-6, we show some signs of life against a pretty damn good team. that final wild card spot is up for grabs, even though you can't help but cringe when you see that 5-6 in the columns.
I hear ya, burnout. I'm hoping that the team plays that hard the rest of the way. Of course , I was hoping for the same thing after the Lions game.
I was hopeing we would do that to i think all of us got ahead of ouurselfs after that game against the lions but i think we can turn it around and be the 5th or 6th seed i think the giants are going to lose alot more 2 or 3 probably.
The Lions game? Tha's one game, dude, and it was a loooong time ago. A higher rating? He'd better- he's supposed to be a star player- a starter- the best we got. Plus that was AJ's first game in how long? Wow- McNabb had 5 better games? Whoppty-doo! And regarding the deep pass in the final minutes of the fourth quarter... Sure, AJ threw the ball. But I put more blame on the play call. If it had been a TD, we'd have given the ball back to the Pats with 4 minutes left on the clock. They can score twice with 4 minutes! They were getting 5-8 yards all night, eating up the clock- then they throw deep? Stupid play, IMO
Dude, relax. I was just letting him know that Feeley didn't have a higher rated game than any McNabb did. I put more blame on the call too, but I'm not letting Feeley off the hook for making the decision that he did. He had AJ Smith wide open underneath or could have thrown the ball away. That was a really, really bad play by AJ.
Yeah fish he was just helping me out i did'nt know either of there qb rating i knew feeleys was like 100 and i did'nt know mcnabb had a 100% passer rating except for the lions game. But fish does make a excellent point dawk aj hasnt played a full game since 2004.
you have to be kidding me. you're gonna just dismiss the int returned for a touchdown on the 3rd play of the game ? that's freaking moronic. flat out stupid. you can't do it, you have to include them in your evaluation of feeley's performance. i didn't dismiss his good play, i said different q/b same result - in other words like mcnabbb he put up really nice numbers but in the end his mistakes cost us the game. that's fact, not opinion. no running game ? yeah that's something new with reid right ? i mean he runs the ball like the 72' dolphins. :icon_rolleyes: the defense was overmatched ? dude, they held the pats to 24 points !!! moss was a non-factor. the defense kept us in the game more than any other factor. btw - there isn't a qb in this league that wouldn't have wanted the chance to start that game against the pats, if there is one he shouldn't be in the league. the play call may have been questionable but the decision by feeley to go long instead of passing to lj smith who was wide open for an easy 1st down(assuming he wouldn't have dropped it) was where the true mistake was made and aj even said as much in his radio interview.
And Feeley costs us our second game in a row. His decisions have been awful. 7 picks in two games, are you kidding me??? After the Westbrook return he takes a sack when he had plenty of time to throw it away? How many times did he throw into double coverage that he got lucky to not have been intercepted? This game was one of the worst QB performances that I have ever seen. Pathetic. It wasn't weather related either. It was decisions that a veteran such as himself shouldn't make. I really expected a lot more out of him than what he's done these last two weeks.
Dawkins i think all philadelphia eagles fans are in agreement with you right now he cost us a playoff appearance he isn't what i thought he was but neither was our defence they dropped 2 interceptions but really if we havent turned the ball over so much we would of won that game.If our starting quarterback was playing i think we could of won that game. aj feeley showed me the worst quarterback performance since mike mcmahon was are backup for when mcnabb went out in 05, aj was just terrible.
pathetic showing by feeley and the defense. i'm not even going to question feeley's decision making, cause there's no explanation for it. he was lucky to escape with only four picks. i also thought the play calling was pretty weak. we should have ran the ball much more than we did. too many missed tackles and dropped balls on defense. i understand the weather played a part in that, but every week it seems there are a lot of tackles we should be making that we don't. on the positive side, i like what we've seen from reed and gocong the past two games. at least this kind of game makes it easier to accept mcnabb back as the starting qb. i'm not going to jump on the kevin kolb bandwagon, but i hope reid let's him see sometime late in games. mcnab has to be moved this offseason, and we need to know what we have.
things will not change as long as reid is the coach. he is the issue, he is the constant in this whole mess. he has been the main issue in past chokes. how do you run the wco offense, draft as your first ever pick, a qb 2nd overall and then never surround him with above average wr's, save 2004 & if not for injuries in '06 ? especially with a qb that is not the most accurate thrower ? how do you not adjust to your qb's strength's by going to a verticle style of passing attack that better fits your personel and is ultimately set up by the run ? again, save '04 & '06. how do you not use one of the best weapons in the nfl, westbrook, better then you do ? why do you refuse to balance the playcalling and take what the defense is giving you instead of continuing to force it through the air ? i am done with reid. i want him gone. i him gone now ! (discliamer - yes, i know reid is going nowhere)
They piss me off to no end too, but I'll be 100% behind them Sunday against the Giants. Let's beat their asses.
