After all the calls and arguments and comments about the officiating in the NFL this year......is it finally time for full time Refs? They are currently part time. Why doesn't the NFL make them full time?
I learn about this lately, I always thought they are full time employees. I think it would be a good thing, if they are working full time, so they could conzentrate more on the games and the rules.
I've been saying this for years, I truley don't understand why they don't hire them full time so they can do a better job. It's really confusing.
Dunno about the other US sports, but the refs over here (i.e. soccer Bundesliga) are part time refs too.
It's not like the refs don't get training but it still seems like this should be the full time job....year round training etc....
This weekend collectively was the worst officiating weekend I can remember. All the crap calls (and non) in the Indy game, the Bear game was horsecrap (for both sides) and then BOTH teams were pissed off after last night? I understand it's a tough job, but good god!!!
If they suck this bad I would say they need to work full time. This year has been horrible on the refs part!
