Bryant Gumbel: Worst NFL Play-By-Play Man?

Dan Reeves does in incredible job doing color on the Westwood One Radio broadcasts. I'd like to see him get promoted to tv. His thick southern accent may stand in his way though. TV doesn't like accents.

 

His Brother Greg? He got the good genes.

Oh wait....why do I care? I don't get NFL Network.

 

He's no worse than Tony Kornholer and Ron Jaworski. In fact one of the networks should get all three of these goobers together and broadcast "Who gives a rat's butt game of the week" Perhaps a suprise visit to the booth by Joe Theisman could top it all off.

 

I think they should make Emmitt Smith one too and Jaws is ok....just not with Kornheiser.

 

Does anyone remember when he called the play clock the "shot clock" last year?

Bad news is he's coming back Saturday.

Couldn't he have suffered a nervous breakdown, pushing him to give up the booth instead?

 

Does this mean Spero Dedes (sp????) will be the play-by-player

 

oh dear lord... Dumbel Gumbel, Deion and Mushmouth Marshall all at one time? Sonuva... I almost wish I didn't have to work Saturday night during that game. Talk about comedy gold!

 

I don't find anything wrong with Deion and Marshall. They don't even do play-by-play.

 

I love him. I have a blast listening to him. On the play where Favre got hurt he somehow mumbeled out: Fred Arv. Then he sent it down to an interview with "Rick" Romo. And apparently Marion Barber is the heart and soul of the Packer offense.

 

What's wrong with Deion? He's actually a pretty competent commentator, imo.

 

I'd rather see Mike "Sylvester the Cat" Mayock in the booth listening to his saliva soaked, pointless rambling than Gumble.
