any1 goin to the cleveland game??? I am going i have front row 35 yd line behind the 9ers bench. My friend threw out this crazy idea of dressing warm from the waist down, and then wearing my Authentic 49ers Helmet ( mainly for protection) and then just painting myself from waist to neck in red and gold!!!! I was like hmm not a bad idea. I am just concerned on whether i will survive lol. I read its gonna be 32 with Snow Flurries. But i figured why not. I have been to all 15 games this year home and away on my quest for 16 games. So why not finish the last game all crazy like in the heart of Cleveland! So if you see a crazy 49ers fan behin the 9ers bench know that it is Fricker 4
lmao do it, don't worry about the cold temps, its not the temp that will get you...its the freezing wind lol you'll be like 'this aint so HOOOOOOOOLLLY FREAK thats cold wind!'
Now we're relegated to watch Chris Weinke???? Oh my sweet Jesus!!!! Well at least I can watch Braylon Edwards..hehehehe
And out of beating Bengals/Bucs, we retained Nolan. god **mn, this team can't do anything FREAKING right at times, last week of the season too! We hecked up in the draft, now we heck up on Nolan! I hope John York was made to sit way in the back of the plane and he was fed peanuts that no good JERK! I hope he enjoyed his little out of 363 day flight to be concerned about the team. God, somebody get the NFL to ban John York the butthole! Gosh, Steady, you seen the light? Gee, I saw this coming when I said 5 and 11...and we finished 5 and 11! ound: But I am pissed that John York hecked my New Year. What a GRINCH Nolan is, the New Year's GRINCH! I hope Nolan is sacked. Hey Steady: Blackouts=Better game at 1pm. Consider alerting 49er fans don't buy or renew tickets, we might get a BETTER TEAM!:icon_cheesygrin:
Hmm, Steady, I think I know you too from somewhere...there are so many forums...and blogs.:icon_cheesygrin: But in all seriousness, I'm not here to attack you. The goal is to get rid of Mike Nolan, and as a fan of Y2J, I am here to SAVE US from Nolan. It's funny Steady that, if we do know each other, didn't I say like we'd go 5 and 11, and now I see you saying Nolan is not the right person for the job? Hmmm, as Chris Berman may say, you could be acknowledging my genius brain on this matter as to what is wrong with the team. I get such a good laugh when you are so full of hope, and the team goes down the toilet, and the right thing was to fire Nolan, but we end up wasting 2 days of everybody's time and not doing the job. I was mad about what York did, but it's now turning into a good laugh.:icon_redface: I like this forum. I hope that my profile isn't going to be hacked. I think I might have talked to this person you might have known and he told me that forum he was on hacked his profile to no end. What kind of a forum does that to a person? Well, I heard he finally got his wish to be banned from that forum you frequent, Steady. I wouldn't want to go on that particular forum.
The Official 2008 San Francisco 49ers Thread Well the new season is going to start in almost 7 months so it's time to set up the official thread. First up: I'm very disappointed at the off season meeting where nothing was done and journalism was held hostage after the season, but that's water under the bridge. I like my team, but I hate my coach right now. Until Nolan wins the big one, he's on my :violent14: list until further notice. Now that that is out of the way, let's focus on the positives 49er fans: Hiring Mike Martz is a great hire. True he may have an unorthodox way of doing things with QBs, but hey, he turned a bad Detroit team into...well, a high passing team at least. What lacked was a good RB on Detroit, which was why they continued to flounder. But main point is, he turned unknown Warner into a pro, and then he turned mediocre Kitna into a passing machine. I feel he is going to benefit Alex Smith. Next up is setting up who will be our WRs. For a long time, we haven't had a no. 1 WR since T Owens and B Lloyd left the team (on bad terms). It's time to finally establish one as this has to stop. Nobody will win if there is no no. 1 WR on the team and it's time to get one. Either fully examine D Jackson/A Lelie/J Hill (Jason Hill of Washington Huskies) as no. 1 WRs, or draft one like Desean Jackson if he's around or James Hardy. If my fellow 49er fans have any other drafted WR suggestions, feel free to fill them out (and that includes Sweets):icon_redface: From time to time, I suggest slot V Davis as a WR and see what he can do. Not as a no. 1 naturally, but slot him as no. 3 or 4 in a 4 WR set. What will also help Alex Smith hopefully is the official hire of Ted Tollner our QB coach. Granted he may not have the skills of Turner, but with him AND Martz, Alex Smith can't miss this opportunity in his make or break year. But if Kurt Warner can propel a team to the superbowl, I can't see why not Alex? It is hopeful that in exhibition (if we ever have a real competition instead of the yearly :groan: :word50: ) both Alex Smith and Shaun Hill will be able to throw to multiple WR sets. I do not want to see Trent Dilfer :violent14: anywhere near the team. The 49ers are in need of a no. 2 RB. I am encouraged to try out Michael Robbinson and maybe send off Hicks. I'd evaluate Clayton our last year's RB taken in the 6th as a possible no. 3. Last year in exhibition, Clayton flat out won the running game. I am hopeful in the draft following a WR pick up that we get some Oline. Allen and Jennings both sucked. Heitman hasn't been well since that broken leg so I emphasize on Oline. With Snyder, Wragge, Baas, and Staley as good potentials, some more possibilities can help establish the Oline to protect Alex Smith. If we go to an all mode passing game, it is crucial to have a strong Oline for protection. Along with WR/OL, now comes the defense. I've been disappointed with severe lack of effort on our Dline that just can't get the job done. It seems only B Young can play the role of 4 players, but he's out now. I'd evaluate whatever we have and tell them to establish a hard running in your face pass presure. Don't just stop the running game, get after the QB as that is your job as the Dline. I'm encouraged by Lawson/Willis (Willis should score a higher number on Madden 09 with his durability!:icon_eek: ), but maybe evaluate the LBs on the draft for any potential. The Secondary looks good, but I also feel we should go FA or maybe draft. I'm still not secure with the schedule as the NFC East beat us up bad 3 out of 4 times, the AFC East swept us (before Nolan came now), New Orleans (0 and 2 thus far) and the soft Seahawks. While the Jets/Fins/Rams/Cards/Lions all qualify as crappy opposition with the hope that we should sweep these teams, we have demonstrated the unfortunate in losing to lame teams. That is not going to be accepted if Nolan wants to keep his job. The big teams as of now for the 49ers: NFC East, all 4 teams, Pats, Bills (road game), Seahawks (2), New Orleans The lame teams are as of now: Jets, Dolphins, Lions, Rams (2), Cards (2) If Mike Nolan cannot beat 7 big teams, 4 lame teams, then I can't see him returning. Anyway, fill in the team needs and let's try not to :nohijacking: the thread please as I want to hear opinions. I'm more then willing to accept Nolan, but doesn't mean I have to like it. :snipersmilie::damnpc:
I heard something disturbing yesterday. Alex Smiths father said that Alex hasn't been coached on his mechanics for three years now. I find that hard to believe, i really do. His play however leads me to believe there might be some proof to this. Has anybody heard about this
:nohijacking: allowed please. But I do want to add this: The New York giants DEFENSE had 4 players constantly harassing Brady. That's the type of defense the 49ers need in building an established Oline to go after the QB constantly, 4 guys, slip in a few speedy LBs, make the QB nervous and this game is virtually won. One of things the 49ers did have years ago were great defenders in Charles Haley and Fred Dean. It's sad we haven't found anybody suitable to line up next to BY, and now we lost an icon in B Young. Again, contribute or take it to the trash. :nohijacking:
OK, let me try to make this very simple SuperBeast 1) the San Francisco Chronicle has NO NEWS about this 2) None of the other papers, esecially the Marin IJ or the Press has any news about this. 3) the Sports on either NBC, CBS, ABC, local Fox did not report any of this 4) ESPN of all channels that I watched did not have any of this 5) This site alone did not have a breaking story on this Therefore, unless you have a link that says this, your information is a little hard to believe. Now, I'll admit maybe it's something that just came up and MAYBE it'll be on the news tonight.
The answer to your question SuperBeast is this is news I just heard of and heard nothing about. That probably could explain some of Smith's mechanics out there on the football field. I'm sure with Martz and QB coach Tollner, those issues should be resolved.
:google: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...slug=ms-morningrush012808&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Now who owes Mr superbeast an apology?
SuperBeast just asked a Alex Smith related question, I can't see any hijacking here, but I have no idea, what Brady and the Giants D had to do with Beastys question......
Maybe starting off with the words very simple isn't the best way to respond to a member. Comments in the Official 2008 49ers thread doesn't have to be something that has to have a link to a particular story, it could be things we've heard on the radio or read in a sports magazine, so let's take what members bring here as an honest attempt to let everyone know some of the things we've heard.
right on. this is a good thing.he's young an needs to be coached up a bit.....things could change in a big way for us in a matter of one off season. thank you very much WR. this news just made my day!
