yeah great andy, you lit up the 30th ranked passing defense after mckenzie went out. yes beating the saints was nice but their defense blows. we can not do that against the better teams. granted seeing mcnabb playing healiter every week is a nice sign but he needs a better weapon at the wr position and he needs a te. if we get that the offense could match the 04 team's output. reid better do something real freaking quick. mcnabb and westbrook aren't getting any younger. load this freaking team up and go for it. also, i was very hard on reid for his draft picks as of late but the young guys on defense are actually starting to look good. i still worry about dawkins and sheppard though. we need to draft their replacements.
If the team decides to trade McNabb, I won't care if they don't go out and get offensive players since Feeley/Kolb are the beginning of the new regime. If McNabb does stay, this team cannot go into next season and not do anything to help him out. I don't care if Curtis had over 1,000-yards. I don't care about injuries. You can only put blame on injuries for so long. If you blame injuries on losing, then you aren't doing a good job bringing in backups who can play. If this team does not make a rumble in free agency, I will not watch one game next year. And a rumble is signing a standout defensive/offensive player. Not garbage that is being dumped from another team. People got so excited when Montae Reagor and Ian Scott got signed. Are they even still on the team?
dmac - i remember when we signed reagor, i was like, wait, why are people getting excited that we signed a cast off from one of the worst rushing defenses in the league ? imo - we need to sign skilled players no matter who the qb is. mcnabb deserves to have it and feely and kolb would need it. get chad johnson and dallas clark - the team goes back to the super bowl and dawkins announces his retirement while holding the lombardi. (something i'd have to see on a highlight because i would be out at 5 points losing my mind).
Well the 07 season is over what do you guys think is to come in the next season and this offseason we finished strong but still need WideRecievers and a big name TE and maybe a safety it depends really but those are just some needs we could upgrade alot at key positions.
first thing is the eagles need to pay westbrook more money. period. then they need to go get a couple weapons on offense. (wr & te) then they need to address the db situation and o-line.
They were talking about going after bernard berrian from chiacago on eagles radio and they were also talking about trying to get jared allen i think the eagles need a bigger name reciever than bernard berrian.
I don't watch many Raiders games, but what do you guys think of WR Jerry Porter? It seems he has the talent, but has been limited by the Raiders offense. The only drawback is that he will be 30 soon. I think he could be something special if he played with other good players, but I am not sure how he would fit in the offense.
im not so sure about jerry porter i havent watched him very much either but ive seen berrnard berrian play and he is a real deep threat but not exactly what were looking for hes not the complete package and thats what we need we need roy williams or chad johnson. Then andy reid wants lj smith back next year why would they want him back go get dallas clark. uhmm i just thought about javon walker ive seen him very few times but people say hes very talented what do you all think of him coming to philly next year i think any good reciever would help.
It looks, as of right now, that the Eagles are going to have the #19 pick. If I am them, the first thing I do is offer that pick to the Chiefs for Jared Allen, who will probably get franchised. You aren't going to get a rookie that will make that much of an impact with that pick. And Allen could step right in and take over for Kearse. Also, I heard Derrick Gunn, from Comcast, tell one of the guys from a Philly sports station that there is going to be someone on the offense that won't be back next year and the Eagles don't know about it yet. My thinking is Tre Thomas. Runyan came out and said he IS returning, so the only guy I can think of, that is up in age and could retire, is Thomas.
but who else could it be maybe they were or maybe he was talking about a trade or releasing someone but i think it is more than likely thomas he is great to that sucks.
The lineman formerly known as Tre can't retire. Not as long as Winston Justice is next on the depth chart. Can Jean-Gilles play tackle?
So the Falcons are interviewing Heckert for the GM job. This according to Schefter. That will be interesting if he accepts. I always wondered how much input he actually had in player personnel.
As impressive as our defense was, it failed to get turnovers. I think or turnover differential was the worst in the league, and even if it wasn't, it was ugly. As good a team as we could have been this year, you're just not gonna be good enough to make the playoffs with a tod below 0. Westbrook's amazingness isn't a secret anymore. I do blame Andy a little in this area. I still feel we didn't get the ball to him on the ground enough. Our goal line and red zone defense was awesome this year. It was nice being able to have confidence in our defense no matter where on the field the opposing offense was. But on the other side of the ball, our red zone offense started the season off horribly. Those stats are very impressive, but there are still areas we need to improve in before we become a legit contender next year. They didn't get us into the playoffs this year, but those numbers give me some hope for next year so long as Reid goes out this offseason and addresses our needs.
Yeah, that was a huge killer. If we could have just been even or so in that category, we're in the playoffs right now with a team that could probably compete with any of the other NFC playoff teams. It's going to be frustrating watching the playoffs knowing that we can play with all of these guys if we were in.
Definitely. There's no doubt in my mind we could beat any of these wildcard round teams, and at the least we would give Dallas and Green Bay a run for their money.
They had just said that the player Derrick Gunn was talking about, that the Eagles don't know about yet, is apparently a player that won't surprisingly retire, but a player who can cause the team to have to think about doing something at his position this offseason as well. So now I don't know who it could be.
