Is it really that hard to figure out that Merriman is his favorite or one of his favorite players? I mean his sn is Litez0ut and the avatar is a picture. Do you need him to state it in his sig too?
Volek led the come-from-behind WINNING DRIVE, thus Volek is credited as being the winning quarterback. I likened it to baseball. Is it the starting pitcher's fault when the lead is given up by someone else so the reliever gets the win? Before you bash my analogy, it makes sense if you think about it.
I freaking know that!!!! Have you not seen me pointing that out for the past 6 pages? Yeah, good argument. Blame ESPN. Actually, what I watch is the Indianapolis Colts vs the San Diego Chargers on CBS, and, shockingly......came to this conclusion on my own! :icon_eek: He's been doing this since he was at NC State, buddy. And I've said he was a heckin punk back then too.
ATTN: Phillip Rivers fans we aren't the only ones that think Rivers needs to shut his pie hole...... Chargers must tell Rivers to take out trash Philip Rivers = Terrell Owens. They're the same person; trash talking twins. Absolute doppelgangers. They're both showboats. They both let their emotions get the best of them. Most of all, they're both impossible to root for. In fact Rivers, Owens, Chad Johnson and Joey Porter's version of hell is a place that doesn't include a camera, microphone or mirror. Punks, all of them. The San Diego Chargers are normally the kind of team fans would embrace. The disparaged head coach turned hero; the underdog that shocked the Indianapolis Colts; the team taking on the Evil Empire. The Chargers should be America's Team. Indeed, I have always respected the Chargers organization. Some of the assistants on Norv Turner's staff I have known for years. Qualcomm Stadium is the best place in the country to watch a football game. The problem is the personality of this team has changed and not for the better. The Chargers are becoming the Oakland Raiders -- silver and yak. They talk and talk and talk. The Chargers are the biggest trash talkers in all of sports. They make Chad Johnson blush. And they've earned this reputation mostly because of Rivers. Oh, he's not the lone trash talker or on-field disco dancer. There are Shawne Merriman's steroid-soaked sack celebrations and the sometimes obnoxious actions of the mostly gentlemanly and Teflon-coated LaDainian Tomlinson. San Diego defensive lineman Igor Olshansky, following the Chargers' divisional game against the Colts, opened his extra large yapper and, unprovoked, mocked the Patriots. He actually said the Patriots were more afraid of the Chargers than the Chargers were of the Patriots. What's the word for stupid in the Ukraine? CBS Sports
And I'm saying if it wasn't ESPN blowing the Cutler thing out of proportion nothing would have been said and I doubt they'd have a camera following Rivers everywhere he goes. He's been doing this since last season, why is he going to change? Because the media doesn't think that's how a QB should act? Rivers is a football player first, and a QB 2nd. You can spin it whichever way you want. Rivers had a great game, and that's all that matters.
Jawing with fans? Would you see Tom Brady or Brett Favre doing that period? Hmmm... I rest my case. The Chargers/Colts game in 2008 is in San Diego.
Boy, the NFL is sure sticking it to Green Bay and Indianapolis to make them play rematches on the road instead of their stadium (Green Bay/Seattle, Indy/San Diego.) I already know who's going to win before the game is even played. An attitude like that from Rivers is going to make him an easy target. He'll set somebody off on New England and one hit on the knee and that's that. Then Rivers will whine that fans cheered his injury.
i dont get Phillip Rivers he is a jackass to everyone and he doesnt having anything to back it up he talks so much and has nothing
i mean besides going to the championship he really sucks LT and gates and a great offensive line carry him to the championship game them people can only take you so far. i got a question for you why are you a dolphins fan but have a hester signature.
I've been a Merriman fan since his college days. I live in SD and my dads been a season ticket holder for the Chargers for years. I attend most of their home games. But I been a 49ers fan since I can remember. My First game I ever went to was a 49ers game.
Well then, I guess calling them your second team would be accurate... and even if it weren't, there seems to be enough Charger influence for you to defend their QB. Happens to me too, I'm no Cowboy fan, but with my bro's influence I tend to defend Romo and stuff... I WAS just saying, I didn't see many people genuinely neutral to the Bolts defending Rivers.
Steve Mariucci, Phil Simms, Jaime Dukes and this guy has defended Rivers. (at least that I know of) http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/10580644 None have any connections with the Chargers.
27-8 as a starter, been to the 2nd round of the playoffs both years as a starter and has already been a pro bowler, i guess if i was a fan of another team i would hate him too! Best Young QB in the NFL, and if you dont like his attitude, tough crap!, go watch boy scouts like John Kitna and Kurt Warner
what is your definition of a good QB? nice article here http://www.chargers.com/news/headlines/rivers-talks-plays.htm
It makes sense except for one small thing, THIS ISNT BASEBALL!! heck baseball! Rivers had the same amount of TD as volek had completed passes Rivers won the game for us
