So Harbaugh is officially gone now. I'm not upset about losing him, but I wonder what coaches will leave to join him in Baltimore.
Yeah Harbaugh might attract some other coaches away from Philly. He can be taught that though. Interesting.....
true he can be taught and i think he has potential to be a good te but can we really afford to wait ? we need to load up on weapons for mcnabb next year but i am doubting the eagles will sign a top te so i really do see them tagging lj smith. it makes sense if they are looking at celek as their te of the future.
Just some news and notes that I have been hearing and reading. As usual, take it for what it is worth. It sounds like LJ Smith will be back. I don't care either way. If Stallworth is released, the team may think about bringing him back. The team may take a strong look at Texans WR Andre Davis as receiver depth and as a returner. That is, if the Texans don't re-sign him. Another receiver that may be in the mix is Jaguars WR Matt Jones. I did read somewhere that the Eagles wanted to trade up with Jax to get him, but they couldn't work a deal out. Big, strong, fast receiver that could play on the outside. Not sure if Jones just didn't have the talent, or if Jax didn't use his talents. They may release him, or look for a mid-round pick.
so does anyone think sheldon brown will snitch like a woman about westbrook echoing mcnabb's statement that we need more playmakers ?
Sheldon probably learned his lesson. It's a lot easier to go against something McNabb says then it is for something coming out Westbrook's mouth after the season he just had. He owns the city.
I thought it was quite comical when Fitz said he would love to be traded to Philly, but threw a left hook and said the FO doesn't seem to like to shell out some cash for their players. Irvin originally said that it was wrong when McNabb publicly came out and said that the team needs playmakers. Then says it was the right thing to do yesterday on Eskin. I was hoping to hear the interview with Stallworth, but I wasn't home.
^^ my dad said stallworth said he'd love to come back to philly. as far as irvin goes - sounds like he's hitting the pipe again.
So everyone wants to come here. Now we just need to make it happen for at least one of these receivers.
pipe dream - wr's - fitzgerald / stallworth / curtis / brown te - lj smith (healthy) rb - westbrook qb - mcnabb spend whatever picks not given up for fitzgerald on the defensive backfield - and the lines.
I would think they'll only attempt to get one new receiver. That would be sick though having that depth. :icon_eek:
Who are you guys rooting for on Sunday? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm pulling for the Giants. I'm tired of the Patriots and the NFC not getting any respect. I will immediately be taking an acid shower after the game.
Save room for one more. The thought of Eli holding up the Lombardi makes me gag, but so does the thought of a team going 19-0 (especially one with arrogance and little personality). Usually in David vs. Goliath games like this that don't affect the Eagles, I root for the underdog, but it's so much harder when the underdog is a hated division rival. I guess I'll be rooting for David here, but neither result is going to make me happy. A Giants win just seems like it would be more entertaining (until next year when we are reminded we are playing the "new york defending super bowl champion football giants").
Lombardi Trophy back in the NFC East...once again in a city other than Philly. We'll get our chance, I guess. I suppose the silver lining here is that we have a chance at beating the defending champs not once, but twice next year.
i was backing the pats but i'll admit i had money on the giants(had to take the 12pnts). no way could i stomach anohter nfce team claiming a lombardi before us but here we are. and while my $200 will help ease my pain i am again kicked in the teeth as a philly fan. :icon_sad:
The Patriots losing was the worst thing to happen to fans that feel a receiver will help the Eagles. Welker, Stallworth, Moss and the Patriots still lost. That will help the front office use the "no need for a receiver" excuse more this offseason.
