One of the greatest all-around plays in Super Bowl history. Is it the best ever?
Don't know about the best.. but it was friggen AWSOME!!!! Manning looked like Favre playing Houdini! And Tyree made an unbelievable catch!
It's definitely one of the best catches in the Super Bowl. Hell, the whole play is one of the best ones. Great job by Manning to stay alive when he had three guys trying to bring him down. That was a pass he probably shouldn't have thrown, but Tyree brought it in. That's how Super Bowls are won.
Great catch but Swann's catch falling over the Cowboy defender and his knee bouncing off his chest and Swann never taking his eye off that ball is the most athletic catch I've ever seen but I'll say this.....Tyree's catch meant more. If he hadn't caught that I don't think the Giants would have won. That catch made the game for them. It made them believe it was a destined win.
It should be called "The Play" since it's more than just the catch. Manning's escape was just as big.
The Catch II already exists. Young to TO against the Pack in '98 wild card playoff game. As Steve said, it's more than just a catch. That play will make highlights for years.
screw montana to clark. this play was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more difficult and awesome. i hereby name this play, "The Catch"
Man I can't stand the Mannings but I must admit that was a great all around play; from Manning escaping and throwing to Tyree going up and halling in that pbutt.
Swann's catch was in the 2nd quarter of X. The fact that Tyree kept the ball off the ground was amazing as was the fact that Eli got out. IMO it ranks in the top 3 catches in Super Bowl history if not at the top. The others would be Stallworth's catch and run in XIV and Swann's.
