These logos keep getting worse. But I guess I'll have no choice but to buy the Eagles' championship shirts despite this ugly thing. And it does resemble the cowboys logo too much, but it could be worse... SUPER BOWL XLIII
Here's an idea, why don't we hold a Super Bowl somewhere that has a good history of football? Like Lambeau? Oh, wait, the Super Bowl has to be in warm weather for the press and the big wigs. :icon_rolleyes:
Where are the guys who designed Super Bowl logos 10-15 years ago gone? Some logos were pretty cool (I love the XXVII, though the game was painful to watch) http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?id=593
I really liked 2003, 2001, and 1999. However, back to next year's Super Bowl logo. It's so simple and it really doesn't have a theme to it. If you look at some of the years past logos, the 2001 had America in red, white, and blue after the 9/11 attacks. 2002 had the lighthouse in the background because it was from San Diego. They did a crappy job for 2008.
The funny thing about the SB36 logo was that it was very VERY different before 9/11. It was actually another ugly-as-hell logo, I just don't know where in the world to find it. I'm a firm believer that the Super Bowl logo should include something that has to do with the host city, and the NFL was doing a very good job at that (although the XXXVIII logo wasn't very "Houston"-y, was it Blu or Brakos?). Now... this? I understand they couldn't put something like the pirate ship at RayJay in the logo, but they could've done SOMEthing!
Found this... Edit: Crap! Cant' see the pic anymore. You still can go there : http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?id=593 and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
