hey guys just cfreaking in for some random thoughts: First, sounds like Mike Patterson is going to serve a suspension of some sort after the idiot was arrested for marijuana possession on the 16th of February. Word should spread soon. Not too sure about the Childress signing. He had some potential when I saw him in preseason a couple years ago, then he faded. Kind of small: 5'10, 180 pounds. Not sure what the team plans to do with him. That's all I have right now.
I hadn't heard about Patterson. What a crapty way to miss a game. As for Childress. I think we were mad at the Pats for taking our trash (Gaffney) and turning into production, so we're trying to do the same to them.
The 610 WIP debate was rather interesting. Ike Reese and Hugh Douglas were part of it and it was cool to hear view points from players that played on the team. Douglas and Reese said a couple things: The Eagles let go of good players like Thomas, Welborn, Walker and Lewis and didn't have players in place to takeover. They have to do better in the draft. Yes they scored on later round picks, but they have many players they either cut, or just don't give time to. Their depth basically sucks. Once a player goes down, they don't have a solid backup. Reid has to get a better grip on the team. He isn't as disciplinary as he used to be and it's starting to show. ALA, Patterson Players talk to each other in the league and many free agents don't think Philly is the best place to be because they aren't that "winning" organization and the FO screws players on money. They both agreed that this 'locking up young players long-term' thinking has to stop. Example: They paid Reggie Brown good money and def. doesn't deserve it. Same thing with Pinkston. Dave Spadaro was there was well. He said basically what I thought he would say: The team is as down as the fans are. Fans are forgetting what the team did in the early 2000's. He expects the team to be vigorous and active this offseason and should make things "exciting." He ripped Hugh Douglas and Ike Reese for leaving the team and going where the money was. I'm not sure if he was just joking, but I had thought Hugh was going to rip his butt in two. Nothing else really happened that stood out. Basically: The team is not close to being a contender (Spadaro Disagreed) The drafts haven't been that great (Eskins and Spadaro both said they have been better than other team's drafts) Offensive Lineman, Passing Rushing End, Safety, Corner, KR/PR, Receiver were what everyone said they needed (Eskin and Spadaro disagreed with the receiver argument) Everyone voted the team will be 3rd or 4th in the division if the team does nothing in the offseason. Spadaro sees a 10-11 win season if the team stands pat. Not sure why they even had Spadaro there. He works for the team, so obviously he can't say anything bad about the team. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It looks like Patterson won't be suspended, but will likely be told to enter the drug program.
Spadaro disagreed with that? No way! :icon_eek: As much as Spadaro normally irks me, he isn't totally off-base here. The Eagles were top 10 in offense and defense. If McNabb comes back healthy and we add a couple of play makers in all 3 phases of the game, they could be a contender next year.
Joe banner today discussed alot of about trades and things like that so maybe he is setting up a trade you never know.
I hate when they use Dave Spadaro...the guy gets paid by the team...he's never going to have an objective opinion... I think if the Eagles can get some help for 5 (O-Line, TE, WR) they'll win 10-11. When I say help, either talent or health!
im hopeing for randy moss in free agency although its gonna be a really long shot a good cornerback in free agency and derrick harvey in the first round and good o-lineman in the second or third oniel cousin would be good for us in the third or tony hills in the second or the third would be good picks.
Doesn't hurt to dream. I masturbate to fantasies of Larry Fitzgerald putting on an Eagles jersey at a press conference....:icon_mrgreen:
