Wow, those really bring back some memories. It really does suck that the article isn't there any longer. Yeah, I was TD-Freeman. When I first started visiting opponent's messageboards I used to change my name on each board. Then I stopped so the rest of you guys would recognize me.

Sweets, you know me well, good or bad you've always been there. For someone to stick by me when i'm always shooting off my mouth says alot about you. That said, knowing that i have a big mouth and never think before i speak you know this is coming. You know i say what i think and have no problem sayin it out loud .....so, for all who want to say it but can't......I think your a major pain in the ass! Always busting my balls about my grammer ( yes the "e" is for you) always shuttin down my mojo, knockin the proverbial chip off my shoulder, calling me out when nobody else will, taking me down a notch or two...you know, all that stuff that brings the snitch to a boil...for that i truly love you....one day when SRW isn't around i'll show you how much lol

Sweets' Take On MRAVEN:

A lot of you know the history of GIF and if you dont, a little research would garner you some much needed information. A short history lesson here will explain why this member is being inducted.

The core of this site other then Mike S, Bandi, Kassie and a few others came from a site that was all smack, started off with great intentions but due to some administrative issues and bannings for no reasons most of us were flushed out of the site like a toilet full of crap. When we left one member was left behind and we tried desperately to find him to have him join us here because he was a good smacker and we knew he would take to this site like the rest of us had.

His name is MRAVEN, and most of you newer members dont know or remember MRAVEN because sadly he left this site over some issues that is useless to regurgitate again (more investigating in back posts will reveal the reasons) but honestly this site owes a lot of its existence to MRAVEN. He donated money to help the site grow and he funded a few of our contests with gift certificates etc., and the hundreds of dollars he donated to GIF will always be greatly appreciated by Steve and myself because he believed in our vision of what GIF could become. Hes an avid Raven fan and very knowledgeable about his team and football in general. No matter what he thinks of GIF today or his feelings about Steve or myself we have never disputed the fact that without MRAVENs donations to GIF this site wouldnt have been able to afford the personalized skin that you all see today. Although he may never come back here to see this we give credit where credit is due and so it is with extreme joy and happiness that I congratulate MRAVEN on joining us in the GIF 2008 Hall of Fame.

SteveRobWhatever's Take On MRAVEN:

Some people will look up MRAVEN's account and think....who the hell is he??? If you see his profile you'll only see 13 posts left in his account. Unfortunately back in the day when we were on the old server we had to purge posts to save room and most of MRAVEN's history is gone on GIF. While there might not be a record of his posts here though his contributions to the site were invaluable and will never be forgotten. MRAVEN was one of many who came over after the meltdown the site admin had at the now "successful" NFL Smackdown and he quickly established himself here as a crap-talking, smack-dealing S.O.B. that loved to have fun with his friends and put someone in their place when need be. He quickly earned the respect and admiration of his peers and quickly became one of our longest running moderators ever. He helped create the culture and atmosphere that GIF has today. He also was very generous in helping the site financially early on, funding contests and helping with other work that was done that helped bring our members the best online experience we could bring them.

Unfortunately MRAVEN had a falling out with the site and myself, but nonetheless his contributions cannot be overlooked and this award is being given to someone who truly earned it with his help behind the scenes and on the frontlines. GridironFans.com would not be what it is today without members like MRAVEN.

Sweets' Take On ollysj:

Ollysj, our 3rd administrator is from Germany and hes been with us almost 3 years and in that time he has shown what an upstanding and fair member he is. In his daily dealings with the workings of GIF, Olly has been a solid staff member someone that both Steve and myself have no problems with the handling of the site whenever were on vacation or just not around. He is one of our most trusted members and he has never wavered in his dedication of GIF, and he has the sites best interest at heart.

Olly and I have had many PMs and IMs over the years and hes someone that I trust totally. He treats everyone fairly and justly and only unless a member shows themselves not to follow the rules will Olly come down with an iron fist. Being he is in Germany helps the site a lot because he can be onsite at times when no one else on staff can be therefore it helps to have staff on pretty much 24/7 something most sites dont have the luxury of having.

Every site should have an Olly, but I am glad that he decided to make GIF his only football home and we feel privileged to have had him all to ourselves for 3 years and hopefully many more, and it is time to add him as a GIF 2008 Hall of Fame inductee.

SteveRobWhatever's Take On ollysj:

Ah olly......the site's "Rock of Gibraltar". He registered in October 2005 and quickly established himself as a key contributor of the site. He quickly earned my admiration as being a avid football fan who also wasn't ill tempered and irrational during a disagreement or argument and he soon earned a moderator position on the site. Olly proved his worth as a moderator time and time again and eventually became our first Super Mod (moderator with mod access to ALL the forums) in January of 2007. Olly kept showing me he always has the site's best interest at heart and eventually I felt it was overdue and made him an official member of the site's administration July 2007.

Olly has been such a valuable member of the staff. He does so much to help Sweets and myself run the site and we are very lucky to have someone who is so dedicated to helping the site. He has earned my complete trust and I know that whenever he is called upon he makes the right call each and every time. I am proud to call him a Hall Of Fame member and most importantly a friend. I only hope he doesn't have a problem with this being a "Walter Payton" award since he's a Packers fan and all :icon_cheesygrin:

Sweets' Take On Omen:

This next inductee is someone very close to my heart as well, someone I have had the privilege and pleasure to know for quite a few years as well. A man who isn’t concerned with how others view him, kind of like the “Devil” himself. A man who’s butchering of the written word forced me to give a name to a new language and as most of you have already guessed, I’m talking about Omen. He and I also met on that same smack board, and he doesn’t go out of his way to rip people to shreds but when the need or call arises for it he can be very effective in his smacking of people.

Omenese is the name I have to Omen’s typing style and for a long time I was pretty much the only one who could read it so I would type the translations of what he was saying and being as cool as he he never took offense to people’s ribbing him of his spelling mostly because he just didn’t give a rats ass, if you understood him great, if you didn’t well then tough crap for you and he’d move on.

Omen has been a Mod and if not for his constant traveling for his job he would be one of the longest running mods we would have. He was very effective and always thought of GIF first no matter what. His monetary contributions to GIF will always be appreciated and never forgotten and I know if we lived closer he would be one of my best friends because he values friendships. Every board should have an “Omen” and we are very proud to have the one and only so it is with great pride that I welcome Omen as another 2008 GIF Hall of Fame inductee.

Omen's a class act who is absolutely beloved on GridironFans.com. The man even has his own language! "Omenese" is part of the culture on the site now thanks to our cell phone postin' Omen. Once you get the hang of it you don't need your GIF decoder ring to make out what he is saying. Omen though is about so much more than just "Omenese". There is a reason why is he is so respected and revered here. I dare to find ANYONE who has any issues with Omen. The man just gets along with everyone and can have a serious discussion about the NFL one second and crack you the hell up the next somewhere else. A well-rounded member who can bring it wherever he is posting, Omen is the epitome of the attitude that makes GIF successful. His carefree style makes him so easy to get along with and he has been such a consistent force on the site. Work took him away from the site for a while but newer members are now seeing him more and more now that he has more freedom from work and they are seeing what the veteran members have known for years.....Omen is 'da man! Omen's long-standing work on GIF as a member and moderator has earned him a spot in the Hall Of Fame here on GIF and I look forward to having Omen on here for many more years, giving us his irreverent take on football and more in a style only Omen can deliver!

Sweets' Take On TJ:

What can I say about our brother from across the Rio Grande, hes been with us since 2005 so we have watched him grow up in here taking college courses and spouting his love of everything Cowboys. His command of the English language is impressive and his knowledge of football even more so.

TJ is one of our current Mods and hes well liked by the GIF community, I do believe it is the Uncensored thing that keeps him with us. He is a post tramp even if he doesnt think so but football is what keeps him coming back here, he is also a lover of soccer.

TJ has upheld the GIF standard for 3 years and his help with the bookie area has been invaluable, he along with another member Fez from Mexico used to add their football humor to the site and had all of us rolling, TJ is what is great about GIF, that no matter where you hail from, if you apply yourself good things can happen and acceptance is as easy as just getting to know someone. TJ will soon take a wife and another milestone will be here for us all to celebrate, hopefully our newer foreign members will take with them what TJ has done here at GIF and grow with us, and it is for all these reasons that TJ is newest member of the GIF 2008 Hall of Fame.

TJ has always been the type of member who is willing to do what he can to help the site succeed. When he originally joined he showed early on here was a force to be reckoned with when it came to football talk. The man knows his stuff! As we got to know TJ we got see all aspects of the man and got to appreciate him more and more. It took some time to convince him but TJ finally joined the staff as a moderator last year and hasn't looked back. He is a key mod on the site and his work in the Sportsbook is nothing short of legendary (Thank god for that too because between him and olly they have that cornered....the vBookie feature is totally Chinese to me!). TJ's help on the site has been invaluable and the site's admin appreciates his work immensely. TJ earned this honor and I am sure he will wear it proudly!
