CJ to Philly or Dallas? Rumors persist that Bengals WR Chad Johnson could be traded to Philadelphia or Dallas. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones - though not mentioning Johnson by name, which would violate NFL tampering rules - said he is interested in acquiring a veteran wide receiver. "Picks for players get good value," Jones said. "Players are depreciated right now right before the draft. Picks are premium." Word around the league meeting is the Eagles would be interested in trading cornerback Lito Sheppard for Johnson. -- Cincinnati Enquirer Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis clearly is sick of star wide receiver Chad Johnson's trade demands. "It's unfortunate that Chad has put himself in that situation, because a lot of people who really had affection for him now see him in a different light," Lewis said. The Bengals still have no plans to trade Johnson. It's certain nothing will happen with the wide receiver before June 1 because it would cost the Bengals $8.03 million against their salary cap to trade him. -- Philadelphia Inquirer
Bring the Stinko here. Dallas has a first round pick to offer. Maybe if you get lucky the player you want is there at 27. And then, maybe you'll get lucky again and he'll develop into a good player. Or you could have Lito Sheppard and a first day pick. That way you know you're at least getting a player who can start for that 8 million dollar hit you'll incur. :icon_cool:
Sure!! Why not? Let him play in Philly, encounter Reid and McNabb, call them out, be suspended for half a season, then getting released, AND THEN you could sign with them 'Boys. Makes lots of sense :icon_cheesygrin:
True. Dumb ole' me was assuming he would want to win a playoff game. :icon_redface: I completely overlooked the fact that Donovan doesn't work well with superstars. We all know what happened last time. McNabb wanted a bigger contract, started talking crap about Owens, and eventually got poor Terrell cut so the Birds could afford D-Mac's hefty salary. If CJ comes here, there's no question McNabb will question his sexuality and throw him under the bus after every drop. TO and Johnson would make one damn fine duo, though. In defense of Romo, Owens can cry to all the reporters and CJ can punch them in the face every time Tony chokes in a postseason game.:icon_thumleft:
I could see him landing in Philly before Dallas. Just can't see the combo of Johnson and Owens. Not sure the Eagles are willing to give up anything for a weapon for McNabb though.
I don't see him anywhere but Cincy this season..I don't think the Bengals are going to give in to his crybabywhineyass and trade him at all.
too bad a cancer type player wasn't needed for the dolphins franchise to go into a downward spiral. I'll take CJ and TO in Dallas anyday. If he gets traded to Philly, THats fine by me too... I think four one can handle him.
with the gals letting chris henry go there is know way they can get rid of him no it's know wounder y cin. can't get any good free agents they will proable get all the componsary picks for next year
