Depends on how hard it would hit their salary cap but I'd say draft a wr and try and trade Johnson for a d-lineman.
they just turned down 2 first round picks for johnson.....goobers. they could have easily taken that 9th pick and the 21st pick from washington and moved up for dorsey
Marvin Lewis said that story was bullcrap about the Washington 1st and conditional 3rd. You can never believe anything ESPN reports.
Dumb move on their part then. He wants out...get something for him then. A few good wr's in the draft and they already have TJ there.....that's ok Bengals keep messing it up.
marvin lewis isnt exactly the most reliable source either lol, mike brown runs that team anyway not lewis
Lewis initially denied it, but later on confirmed it. They were discussing it on the radio yesterday. Some think that Lewis didn't even know about it when he denied it and had no say in it. He probably told the front office not to turn down everything unless they offer certain number of draft picks or something. He sure made a fool out of himself though. Anyway, I agree that the Bengals could use I wide receiver, but most teams don't even have one pro-bowl wide-out. The Bengals still have T.J. Houshmandzadeh. It's not an absolute need just because they no longer have the top receiving corps in the NFL. Besides, there's no way they're taking a receiver at 9. Not this year. The WR class is so weak this year, I don't see one going in the first 20 picks! Especially when they could probably get Sedrick Ellis, who would begin the rebuilding of their horrendous defense. I could see them taking a receiver in rounds 2 or 3, or trading down to 20 or so, but no receivers in this draft are even close to top-ten caliber. I don't think Buffalo should take one at 11 either.
It would be goobered to draft 1 if Chad stays. They won't go reciever at 9 but like I said they could if they like someone at 21...
they need to fill the defense up first, but maybe try and get rid of johnson just before the draft to get some 2nd- 3rd round choices for the whinging wr
I don't know why this is news. I mean, it's a position they need. Is there any reason they shouldn't draft a WR?
Yeah...the WR's aren't worth that high of a pick...It would be like selecting...Oh, I don't know, Ted Ginn, Jr. at pick #9...
