Everybody knows of the typical division rivalries... Bears/Packers, Cowboys/Redskins, Dolphins/Pats... but what is the biggest rivalry between division lines? Discuss...
Thats a good one the jags have owned that rivalry though. I would say jet/giants and eagles/steelers cause there in the same state. I think jets giants is bigger cause there in the same stadium lol.
Thing is though that being cross conference games, they only occur once every 4 years. I guess to some extent that makes each one more special, but you could also look at it that they are played so infrequently that its hard to build the rivalry.
Jags/Steelers, Colts/Pats, Jets/Giants, Eagles/Steelers, Ravens/Redskins, Packers/Eagles. Let me think some more... Giants/Pats is a good, new one. Also Seahawks/Broncos, as well as other teams who were division foes before 2002. If I had to pick one, I would have to say Colts/Pats. They just hate each other's guts.
Nothing comes close to Colts-Pats, in my opinion. Personally, ever since 4th and 26, I've enjoyed watching the Eagles and Packers play, but with Favre gone it changes a little bit.
I did too, but that totally changes now. I enjoyed our rivalry with the Bucs we had going earlier in the decade. Colts/Pats easily overall right now.
Pats and Colts hands down. Steelers and Jaguars would be an undercard match to that. Living in Philadelphia and being a Steelers fan, I could care less about playing the Eagles other than I want my team to win. That's not a big rivalry. Steelers/Raiders was once a huge one. Steelers/Titans when McNair was with Tennessee was a good one. 49ers/Giants was a great one in the 80's, so was Eagles/Bears. But today, I would stick with Colts/Pats as the number one.
Especially since they're competitors every year! Every preseason people can't wait for the AFC championship game, because they know the two best teams in football will be playing in it. The '06 AFCCG made it even more intense! As did Brady and the undefeated pats marching into Indy and coming back to shock the Colts. Networks compete for their regular season game. It's crazy.
