After months of chasing Randy Orton and the WWE Championship, The Game is finally back on top. Triple H won the hard-fought Fatal Four Way Elimination Match at Backlash to reclaim his throne as The King of Kings and become the new WWE Champion. As Triple H knows from experience with this being his 12th reign as World Champion, when you’re at the top, the target is on your back. Who will set their sights on The Game and his newly won gold? Will Randy Orton be looking to regain the WWE Championship and reinstate the Age of Orton?

Also, after defeating three Superstars in one night last week on Raw, General Manager William Regal will be officially coronated Monday night as the 2008 King of the Ring, in a ceremony full of pomp and prestige. Will the newest English monarch be a benevolent ruler or a cruel dictator? Will The King of Kings and new WWE Champion steal his glory? We'll find out as the crown and scepter are bestowed to Regal Monday night.

Last night, Shawn Michaels put his body on the line and gave everything to finally silence Batista once and for all. Will HBK be well enough to make it to the ring after the heated battle? Will Batista have gotten the point and leave The Showstopper alone?

Fully recovered from the Money in the Bank Match at WrestleMania XXIV, Mr. Kennedy will make his triumphant return to Raw. Will he be looking to throw his hat into the ring with the new WWE Champion? Or will he decide to avenge his loss at WrestleMania? What’s up next for the Green Bay loudmouth as Raw hits the Garden State?

Backlash also saw The Glamazon get the win in the 12-Diva Tag-Team Match by pinning Ashley. Was this just a message to Michelle McCool and Women’s Champion Mickie James? Will Beth Phoenix be aiming to get revenge on McCool for her slap last Monday, or will she focus on regaining the WWE Women’s Championship?

We’ll see the answer to all these questions and more when Monday Night Raw airs live at 9pm et, 8pm ct on USA Network.

Reading the feedback on PWTorch and PWZone, it's about 50/50. I thought it was genius. Granted, they do it again and it'll probably piss off even the 50% that liked it. In actuality it was probably higher than 50/50 in favor of liking it.

It puts mega heat on Regal, it gets people talking, and it's something new. What was the alternative, having Orton tap out and HHH pose? Not exactly a great ending in RAW history. Orton has become the "new" HHH, in terms of being the undisputed top heel in the company right now and he does it so well, but they need to add spice to this feud and maybe this helps.

Like I said, great one-time thing, but do it again and it becomes very negative.

    RAW Results for 4/28:

HHH came out to start the show and said the Age of Orton is dead and the Game is back. Randy Orton intervened, and said the odds were stacked against him. HHH pointed out Orton was very confident before the match. Orton said he is a victim of his own success, because he was so dominant they wouldn’t put him against anyone one-on-one. HHH said the three person and four person matches benefited Orton, who could sit back and capitalize on other people’s work. Orton said he would invoke his rematch clause at Judgment Day. HHH said people are tired of Orton’s talk, and told him to leave the ring. Orton refused, so HHH hit him with the microphone. An angry Orton changed his mind and said he would invoke his rematch clause for Raw.

Mickie James, Maria, Kelly Kelly, Cherry, Michelle McCool and Ashley beat Beth Phoenix, Melina, Victoria, Natalya, Layla and Jillian Hall. Despite involving 12 women again, only five or so really did anything. The women brawled at the beginning, leaving Beth and Kelly in the ring. Beth gave Kelly a tree slam, Melina gave her a DDT, and Jillian went for a handspring elbow but was blocked. Kelly tagged Mickie, who used punches, a huracanrana, a Thesz press, and a rollup on Jillian for the pin.

JBL beat Highlander Robbie. Highlander Rory was at ringside, and backed off when JBL challenged him. JBL destroyed Robbie with punches, kicks, elbows, a back suplex, and a clothesline from Hell for the pin. After the match, JBL said that John Cena robbed him of the title. He vowed to destroy Cena and then take back the title.

Paul London and Brian Kendrick beat Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Cade used a high back drop on London, and Murdoch hit an elbow. London tagged Kendrick, who hit a flying forearm and dropkick on Cade. Cade hit a clothesline to take back over, but Kendrick abruptly rolled up Murdoch for the pin. The rednecks argued after the match. Murdoch took a microphone and sung that he’s got friends in low places. He was booed at first, but cheered when he finished. He was pretty damn good, and apparently will be the face coming out of this. I’m all for more of Murdoch singing.

Paul and Katie Lea Burchill beat Super Crazy in a handicap match. Paul dropped a knee, and Katie hit an elbow and kick. Katie missed a kick, and Crazy used a huracanrana on Paul. He went for a moonsault on Paul, but he missed. Katie then hit a dropkick off the top and Paul finished Crazy with the curb stomp. Katie took the pin.

Next up was the coronation of King Regal. He said he wouldn’t relinquish his general manager post, and that as GM and king he is the most powerful entity in WWE. He said xenophobia and jealousy will prevent the audience from liking him, but they will have no choice but to respect and fear him. Mr. Kennedy interrupted, and said he couldn’t congratulate Regal given Kennedy wasn’t even invited to participate in the tournament. Regal said nobody talks to him unless granted an appointment, and told Kennedy to apologize. Kennedy instead said that he’s Mr. Kennedy. Regal responded by punching him in the mouth and apparently busting him open hardway. Kennedy and Regal got into a fight. They added a new harder edge to Regal, which is encouraging.

Cody Rhodes beat Santino Marella. Before the match, Santino bashed the Sopranos for their fake Italian stereotypes and phony accents. Santino hit kicks and punches, and Cody missed a springboard crossbody. Santino used a judo throw and camel clutch, but Cody escaped with the electric chair. Cody went for a bulldog, but Santino escaped. Cody then hit a DDT for the pin. After the match, Cody was going to badmouth Santino, but Carlito shut him up with the back stabber.

Chris Jericho was in a tuxedo for an award edition of the Highlight Reel. The award was for best actor in sports entertainment. The nominees were Mr. Fuji and Don Muraco for Fuji General, Michael Cole for Deliverance Part II (Heidenreich molesting him) and Shawn Michaels for pretending he had a knee injury to beat Batista. He announced Shawn as the winner. Shawn limped out. Jericho said that nobody goes from pious preacher to backstabbing bastard as quickly as Shawn. Jericho congratulated Shawn, told them to play Shawn’s music, and left. This was a nice close to the segment, with Shawn looking upset. They need to better define Jericho’s motivations, which I just don’t get. After the match, Santino made fun of Roddy Piper so Piper slapped him.

HHH and Randy Orton fought to a no contest. HHH hit a clothesline, and ran Orton into the post. He worked on Orton’s shoulder and arm. Orton kicked HHH in the face, and applied a long headlock. Orton hit the Garvin stomp and sent HHH into the steps. HHH fired back with punches and a face buster. Orton retaliated with a power slam and back breaker. HHH hit a superplex, and applied the crossface. At that point, we saw William Regal in the production truck. He said that the people disrespected him, so they don’t deserve to see the finish of the match. He told a production guy to take it off the air. We got a few more seconds of audio with no picture, and then it just cut out altogether.

What happened after RAW went off the air:

William Regal came to the ring and said that since the fans disrespected him, they don't deserve to see an ending to the match. The match just ended, Orton left, they played HHH's music and HHH yelled at ringside at Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, playing it up like he had been double-crossed.

Kennedy is an odd duck. Austin is his mentor and tutor of sorts, and he has a catchphrase like The Rock, and it's almost like they want to make him a Rock/Austin hybrid. He was sportin the Austin-like vest and Rock-like pants this week.

RAW Preview for 5/5 - Credit goes to WWE.com:

When Raw broadcasts from Toronto, Canada tonight, the cold temperatures will be nothing compared to the chilly reception Randy Orton will likely receive the next time he faces Triple H.

The newly-crowned WWE Champion battled the Legend Killer in a title match last week, with the broadcast ending in a blackout after a disgruntled William Regal pulled the plug on the audio and video. Before ruining the main event for viewers, however, the Raw General Manager did manage to arrange for the two combatants to meet one another next month at Judgment Day in a WWE Championship Steel Cage Match. How will the two Superstars prepare for one another in the prelude to pain?

The discontented King of the Ring saw his coronation ceremony turned upside down thanks to Mr. Kennedy. Not one to follow sovereign protocol, the loudmouth from Green Bay, Wis. came to blows with Regal, who then promised retribution. What punishment awaits Mr. Kennedy compliments of His Royal Pain in the Arse?

It also appears that title-hungry JBL isn’t about to hang up his 10-gallon hat anytime soon. After handily defeating Robbie McAllister last week, the media maven made it perfectly clear that he continues to gun for the title, too. Not one to sit idly by, what does JBL have in store for those who stand between him and the gold? And what exactly will JBL have in mind for John Cena after he embarrassed the wrestling god at Backlash?

In other Raw action, Carlito & Santino Marella continue to provoke the anger of World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes. Last week, Rhodes defeated Santino, but the Caribbean Bad Apple snuck up on Rhodes and dropped him with a Backstabber. What sly stunts can we expect from 'Cantino' this week? Or will the reigning tag team champions have their say?

Find out the answers to these questions and more tonight at 9pm et, 8pm ct on the USA Nework

    RAW Results for 5/5:

Vince McMahon came out to start the show, and said basically nothing. He felt what King Regal did was innovative, daring and visionary. He added that Regal reminds Vince of himself. He endorsed Regal as king and general manager, and asked the fans to show him the same respect they show Vince. King Regal came out and said he would turn out the lights at any moment if the fans don’t show him respect. The fans chanted that he sucks, so he had the lights turned out. He stood in the ring in the dark, and finally had the lights turned on again. He said he won’t tolerate being disrespected.

Mr. Kennedy joined him, and said that if Regal wants respect he can take on Kennedy. Regal said he is Kennedy’s superior, and Kennedy told him to prove it. Regal said that Kennedy would be in the main event against the entire ECW roster. Regal repeated that he wouldn’t be disrespected by anyone. That was HHH’s cue. He said that he meant Regal no disrespect, and wanted to congratulate Regal on his position of power. However, he had advice for Regal. He said that if Regal wants to maintain his status, he shouldn’t disrespect HHH. Regal said he won’t mess with HHH, because HHH is too busy. He said it would be HHH and Kennedy vs. the ECW roster.

Mickie James retained the women’s title with a lumberjack match victory over Beth Phoenix. Beth hit a shoulder block and threw Mickie to the outside for a beatdown by the heel women. Mickie hit a neck breaker, but was tripped by a heel woman. Mickie went to the outside, but was tripped again. Mickie hit a Thesz press off the top and enzuigiri. Beth fell to the outside, which led to chaos. In the midst of this, Melina tried to hit Mickie with the title belt but hit Beth and Mickie scored the pin.

William Regal backstage spoke with Jericho. He more or less said, 'So, you said Shawn Michaels doesn’t have a knee injury. Do you think Shawn has a knee injury?' Jericho said that Michaels is a great big faker. Regal announced Jericho and Michaels vs. John Morrison and the Miz, and said that if Michaels is 100 percent Jericho will have nothing to worry about.

Trevor Murdoch was singing backstage. Trish Stratus showed up so he decided to sing to her. She didn’t know what to say, which led to Ron Simmons walking in. This vignette made me smile. Elsewhere, Randy Orton said he respects what Regal did as GM. He added that he would show CM Punk what will happen if Punk tries to cash in his Money in the Bank on Orton.

Next up was a car crash of a segment, with Paul Burchill and Katie Lea beating Jon Cutler. Regal said that he was cutting off Jim Ross’ microphone, and bringing out Mike Adamle to call the match. Jerry Lawler then asked Ross if his microphone was on. Ross said 'apparently not' but the microphone was still on. Lawler responded, 'I can hear you.' Ross gave Adamle his headset. Adamle started, 'We don’t know much about Cutler, except his name rhymes with butler, and if he wins, the Cutler will have done it.' They clearly worked on the lamest joke they could come up with. The basic gimmick was Adamle would say stupid things and Lawler would call him on them. The match was just awful, with botched spots everywhere. The heels utilized stomping, kicks and elbows. Katie hit a double stomp off the top rope. Burchill hit a botched curb stomp and Katie scored the pin. This segment was so utterly dreadful on a number of levels.

Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho beat John Morrison and the Miz. Before the match, Jericho told Michaels he better have his back. Michaels said he is hurt but he would do his best. Michaels limped badly to the ring. He is overselling way too much. Michaels is usually a great seller, but in this case it takes away from the story unless he is going heel. Michaels is limping so badly it isn’t believable that he could actually travel around for weeks with this supposed injury. Jericho hit a suplex and springboard dropkick on the Miz. Morrison responded with a springboard front kick. The heels worked over Jericho briefly. Jericho came back and applied the Walls to Miz. Morrison broke that up, but Michaels gave Morrison sweet chin music and Jericho hit a lionsault for the pin.

Randy Orton and CM Punk went to a no contest. Orton pulled Punk off the apron and Punk took a back bump to the floor. Orton hit a Garvin stomp. Punk came back with kicks and a bulldog. At that point, Regal turned off the lights and said the match was over. Randy Orton went backstage to confront Regal and was angry. THIS IS THE WRONG KIND OF HEAT.

Roddy Piper was the guest in Carlito’s Cabana. Carlito said Piper took it too far with Santino last week. Piper said he always takes it too far. He beat Mr. T, he beat Hulk Hogan, he beat cancer, and he doesn’t have time to play nice with the Super Mario Brother. This was a good promo. Santino came out and said that Piper was all his. Santino said it took Piper eight years to win the Intercontinental Title and Santino did it in his first night in the company. He said that Piper slapping him was embarrassing. Piper told Santino to get a designated driver. There was about to be a fight when Cody Rhodes came out. The heels pointed out Hardcore Holly wasn’t there. I figured that mean Rhodes and Piper would fight Santino & Carlito, but instead Rhodes brought in Cryme Tyme to even the face odds at 4 to 2. Shad said it’s all about that Rowdy Rowdy yeah yeah, and Piper did a bizarre dance.

JBL beat DH Smith. JBL cut a promo in the limousine on the way to the ring, which was clever. He threatened to take Cena on a bad ride. He then destroyed Smith with hard punches, kicks, a big boot, and three clotheslines. JBL beat him up some more after the match.

The ECW roster beat Mr. Kennedy and Triple H. Prior to the match, Regal said that the ECW roster would have the chance to make a statement that combined they are good enough to beat two Raw guys. He added that anything less than victory would be a disappointment. The faces dominated early, and then the heels briefly got heat on Kennedy. HHH came in and laid out a bunch of people. He got cut off and Kane hit the choke slam on Kennedy. Chavo hit the frog splash on Kennedy for the pin. HHH cleared the ring afterwards with a bunch of hard chair shots to the head. The lights went out, and when they came back on Orton hit the RKO on HHH to close the show.

RAW Preview for 5/12 - Credit goes to WWE.com:

Judgment Day will be only six days away when Raw returns from north of the border this Monday night, and the Raw Superstars will have one last chance to gain momentum inside Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena.

One individual making his way to the Motor City for Raw is John Cena. Following last week's announcement that the Chain Gang Soldier will clash with JBL at Judgment Day, Cena may be on hand to mix some pre-match words with the self-proclaimed "wrestling god."

Since tapping to Cena in the WWE Championship Fatal Four Way Match at Backlash, JBL has taken out his aggression on the likes of Highlander Robbie and DH Smith. Will Cena's return to Raw this week be enough to keep the Longhorn Loudmouth from seeking another victim? Or might JBL want to make Cena that victim, mere days before Judgment Day?

Detroit may be Hockeytown, U.S.A., but this Monday, it could become Blackoutville. For two consecutive weeks, General Manager William Regal has pulled the plug; first, he took Raw off the air two weeks ago in the middle of a Triple H vs. Randy Orton WWE Title Match, and last week, he turned the lights out as Orton battled CM Punk in Toronto.

Regal has shown that he has no qualms about taking Raw off the air if he is disrespected. Will our fans in Detroit make it through the full two hours uninterrupted? If they don’t, will those in attendance shower Regal with the signature squid usually reserved for celebrating a Red Wings hat trick?

Orton and Regal’s number one enemies, WWE Champion Triple H and Mr. Kennedy respectively, did make it through their match last week. Unfortunately, they lost, as Kennedy & The Game had to do battle against the entire ECW roster. To make matters worse for Triple H, he survived a wild post-match melee only to be flattened by an RKO from his Judgment Day opponent. On the way to their Steel Cage showdown, who will get the last laugh? And will Regal throw anything more at Kennedy in response to his besmirching several weeks ago?

Also last week in a WWE Mobile on AT&T exclusive video, a massive match was made for Judgment Day: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels. The battle between Y2J and HBK has been heating up ever since Michaels’ win over Batista at Backlash. Jericho has accused the Showstopper of faking an injury to win that match; whether he is or he isn’t, HBK’s injury didn’t stop him from teaming with Y2J to defeat WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison last Monday night. With less than a week left before their pay-per-view battle, how will Jericho and Michaels finish their preparations?

Find out all this in more as the final Raw before Judgment Day comes to you live from Detroit, Monday at 9pm et, 8pm ct on USA Network

    RAW Results for 5/12:

The lights were out to start the show, and then came on with King Regal standing in the ring. Lilian Garcia sung God Save the Queen. The people booed, so Regal decided to exercise his authority. He picked out two people at ringside to throw out. It was the two people next to him. Mickie James came out to protest, as apparently this was her brother and his girlfriend. Regal threatened to throw out Mickie or strip her of the title, which brought out John Cena. Cena said he can relate to Regal being annoyed at the fans being rude to him, but Regal is responding to that in the wrong way. Cena said everyone thinks Regal is doing a bad job. He read e-mails from fans complaining about Regal. One e-mail compared the blackouts to WCW Thunder. The fans chanted for Regal to be fired. Regal thought over these e-mails, and gave his word he wouldn’t turn out the lights on any matches this show. He then announced Cena vs. Randy Orton, and if anyone interfered they would be suspended. He said that perhaps he had earned a little of the fans’ respect. That jerk Cena then interrupted Regal’s song, said he didn’t earn the fans’ respect, and berated him for playing God Save the Queen. As if it’s so horrible the man appreciates his country. Cena then had Lilian sing Respect.

Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly retained the tag titles by defeating Carlito and Santino. It was Super Bowl XXXVI all over again, as the heels entered separately and lost to the team that came out together. Roddy Piper watched at ringside because Santino wanted him there. Holly hit a dropkick and low blow but Carlito broke up the Alabama slam with a swinging neck breaker. The heels briefly got the heat on Holly, who then tagged Cody. Cody hit a springboard crossbody and power slam on Santino. Santino used a jaw breaker, but became distracted by Piper and Cody hit a DDT for the pin.

Mr. Kennedy beat Snitsky. Snitsky used punches, kicks, a body slam, an elbow drop, and a bear huge. Kennedy came back by going after the leg with kicks and a chop block. He then hit the mic check for a quick win.

Backstage, an angry Santino said that it isn’t the 80s anymore and he’s going to find and hurt Roddy the Piper.

Also backstage, Mickie James thanked John Cena for helping her in the ring. She invited him to go out with her and her family after the show. Cena robotically said he had to focus on his job, but then said he was joking. He said he would go out with her and it might be a long night.

Mickie James and Maria beat Beth Phoenix and Melina. Beth and Melina collided early, and Beth became angry and left ringside. Mickie then hit a neck breaker for the pin.

Chris Jericho came out to apologize for claiming Shawn Michaels’ injury was fake. Shawn Michaels joined him and said that he’s feigning the injury and he’s not hurt. Jericho said this was some sort of trick and that Michaels is definitely hurt. Michaels gave him sweet chin music, said he isn’t hurt, and left the ring with no limp.

Jeff Hardy beat Umaga. Jeff returned to Raw. He said he made a mistake and paid for it. He added that now he’s back and he has a lot of things to do. At that point the mic cut out and King Regal interrupted. He said now Hardy would be punished for his unspecified sins. This brought out Umaga. Umaga threw him into the barricade and hit a head butt off the second rope. Umaga then missed a running butt drop and Jeff hit the whisper in the wind for the pin.

Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch beat Cryme Tyme. The two teams traded a few moves before Murdoch cradled Shad for the pin. Cade then grabbed a mic, and told Murdoch to sing a victory song. A lot of fans were still down on the singing. As Murdoch was singing The Gambler by Kenny Rogers, Cade attacked him.

Melina backstage was angry at Beth for leaving the match. Beth said that Melina cost her the women’s title on purpose because Melina knows it is easier to beat Mickie than Beth. Beth said she let off Melina easy. Melina and Beth then had a great intense brawl. Beth ended up destroying her. This was a really strong quick segment to get over Beth.

Randy Orton beat John Cena. Cena hit a fisherman buster early, but Orton scored with a back breaker. Orton went for the Garvin stomp, but Cena grabbed his leg and flung him over the top rope. Orton hit a kick to the head and DDT. Orton went for the RKO, but Cena brushed him off. Cena hit a blockbuster and top rope rocker dropper. JBL then came out and said that Regal determined he would be the new referee. Cena immediately attacked JBL then turned his attention back to Orton. He went for the FU on Orton, but JBL kicked him in the head and used a fast count for an Orton win. The heels double teamed Cena, which brought out HHH. Cena and JBL fought to the back. In the ring, Orton was attacking HHH. A cage lowered, but HHH hit the spine buster, and threw Orton into the cage to close the show.
