Debate: Reggie Williams Or Roddy White?

I just have one questions: WHO THE FREAK CARES?! This is like having a poll for who the best division III college umpire is.

Sorry this seems to be bad information. I know I've heard this mentioned a couple of time, maybe his average was what led the league. He did finish fifth in YAC with 477. Behind Westbrook, Welker, Tomlinson, and Marshall. He only had 83 receptions but it looks like he still would have finished behind Tomlinson in that category.

Reggie Williams finished so far down the list that I didn't even bother counting. He finished just behind Dallas Clark with 217 YAC on only 38 receptions. This shouldn't even be debateable.

 

You're just saying the same thing over and over again. We know Roddy had more catches than Reggie, because he was playing on a team that didn't benefit from one of the best running games in the league, and which was always throwing because they were behind in games, rather than rushing to run the clock.

Obviously what matters is not total YAC (one of the most meaningless statistics I've seen used in a serious debate yet) but YAC per reception. Does that number give Roddy an advantage?

Well, duh. Of course it doesn't. Both players are tied on 5.7 YAC.

Although since Reggie tended to catch the ball further down the field to start with, his total average is better.

You actually think this is a serious debate? It's White and it's not even close. Believe it or not, we were actually in a lot of close games, especially early on in the season. So his stats weren't ballooned because we were "alwas behind." Did you ever stop to think that they passed to him because he was open?
