Unless Manning can break some of the records of Marino and even his brother he will never be the QB that Marino was. Now if it were Peyton v Marino the vote goes to Peyton based on 1 SB win and even then it would be very close.
This cant be serious everyone said eli sucked before the playoffs this year. Eli is not a great QB. He was just on a team that was great the defensive line was beastly.
Hmm... Dan Marino held all the meaningful quarterback records at his time, and he came close to winning a Super Bowl. It's a toss up, but I just voted Dan Marino.
He didn't win it, his defence did. By this reasoning, you'd say Grossman and Dilfer were both better than Marino too hey? I think the fact Marino held so many great records puts him in the top three QBs of all time, sod Eli Manning. Eli doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Dan Marino.
I didn't vote for Manning. You asked why anyone would even think about this for a second, and I told you why. Whether you think it's right or not, it's still going to be used against Marino by all the haters that he didn't win any championships. Don't get me wrong, I think Marino is a better quarterback than Eli because of the records that he broke during his career which were just overwhelming. Eli hasn't done any of that yet, and he only had one good playoff run which isn't enough to make him better than Marino at this point of his career IMO. Is it possible that Eli can become better than Marino? Certainly. But he'll have to win a lot more championships and even hold a record or two before I'll consider him better than Marino.
Eli will never get close to Marino. He might get another ring if hes on a great team but no way will he ever come close in terms of ability and poduction.
so you're define as a great QB because your team wins one superbowl that puts you over a QB that set every meaningful record in the league at one point you're a freaking goobered and have no real clue about anything if you say Manning is the better qb
