The Philadelphia 76ers have apparently won the Elton Brand free-agent sweepstakes. NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday that Brand has informed the Sixers that he will accept a five-year deal worth an estimated $82 million and spurn what was presumed to be a slam-dunk return to the Los Angeles Clippers to hook up with Clipper-to-be Baron Davis. Source: http://proxy.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3479059 He can't formally sign before midnight, but it looks like a done deal.
sixers trade 2 players, a 1st round draft pick to the twolves for a 2nd round draft pick to free up space to sign Brand. I just seen that part of it on ESPN Scrollbar, didn't catch the players names.
I didn't know it was 2 players. One of them is Rodney Carney, not sure who the other one is, but probably no one major. We also got 3 million dollars. This was a deal made to clear cap room for Brand.
I heard after all that wooing we did, we didn't even make an offer to him. Do we have enough money left to buy a stick of bubble gum, let alone bring Smith in?
Prolly not, unless they can pull off a sign and trade With Brand, you dont need Smith anyway's. Smith's kinda a SF/PF combo type, and you guys are set at both spots unless Igudala walks in the future
IF I was Baron Davis I would be pissed, he basically agreed to go to the clippers because of Brand, now he is hecked, lol
