With Glenn gone, who is gonna be Dallas's slot WR this season Your candidates are: Sam Hurd: Much to the annoyance of many Cowboy fans, I feel Hurd is basically a scrub, or to put more kindly, a 4th WR/ST contributor type. 19 catches out of the slot (with two games as the #2) just dont do it for me Miles Austin: A physically gifted player who came into the NFL as more an athlete than a WR. Has the measurables of a 1st round WR, just not the polish. Could be a gem as a WR, or just a good KR. This is year 3 for him, so we should find out this year Isaiah Stanback : The guy the staff and FO love. Fans have seen very little of him. Supposedly much more dangerous than Austin with the ball in his hand, and is more elusive. Stanback to me is the guy to watch in preseason Im gonna go on a limb and say Stanback. You saw my feelings on Hurd, and I just dont trust Austin as a WR right now. Im gonna go with the guy the organization raves about the most.
The coaching staff loves Stanback. Thjei're like so high on hime and stuff... Hurd will probably be teh gyu the first weeks fo the seson......
Actually I disagree with what you said about Hurd, dude made a lot of sick butt catches last year, just were bad passes that were 'ruled' incomplete. However, I'm going with Stanback too.
According to a story I read, Stanback is working behind both Hurd and Austin in terms of development. I'd say Hurd.
Im just not a fan of Hurd. I really dont think he stepped up last year. I see him as a Terrence Copper type. He's a guy who can kill you if you give him a chance, but you can take him out if you focus on him
How about Crayton to work the slot in 3 receiver sets? Hurd (the Turd), who is bigger physically, might be better outside the hashes.
Rep! Hurd bigger, but he is actually less athletic than Crayton (ya, I know) I dont see him being able to thrive outside of the slot , and he didnt even thrive there. The best hope to push Crayton back to the slot would be Austin figurin out ow to hold on to the ball

It's the new Dallas combo, Hurd the Turd from Romo the Homo..... I wonder if the speed of Felix "the cat" Jones could see him get a bit of time in the slot (more along the lines of motioning out of the backfield and looking for the mis-match with a linebacker).
