So much for the U.S. recovering the lead once the track & field begins...

    China has won this already...

All my life it's been like that!! The country that gets the most gold medals wins the Olympics!! :icon_confused:

Ok so if a country has 35 golds and 50 medals and another one has 33 golds and 75 medals the one with 35 would win? That's ridiculous, why even have the other medals?

No it doesn't depend on anything. Most gold medals wins. It's always been like that, and US networks have never been forced to put a spin on it because you could always count on US winning the most gold medals.

Now, I think America is getting screwed by some shaky officiating. For some odd reason, chinese competitors are always getting an extra point or two for some otherwise routines/dives/anything. And there's the underage chinese gym girl fiasco that will not be overuled.

Yes, the one with 35 golds wins.

Why even have the other medals? Two words: tie breakers.

Considering that most of the 200+ countries that are participating have an almost non-existant sports structure, it shouldn't be a surprise for you.

Because, newsflash: there's a whole world outside the US, most of it is crap, but it still exists.

It's the first time you're following the Olympics, right?

    Were catching USA though:icon_cheesygrin:

I think it should be 3 points for a gold 2 silver and 1 bronze.

Actually I think we are 1 Michael Phelps behind in golds lol

Most overall medals wins imo. If the other medals didn't matter why would they keep track of them?:icon_rolleyes:

Most overall medals win, in your opinion. Ok, it's your opinion. You're wrong, but it's your opinion. :icon_cool:

Just think about it this way: who would your rather be? The Bills, with 4 silver medals, or the Buccaneers with one gold medal?

Give 10 points for gold, 5 for silver and 1 for bronze, add them and you have a winner.

btw, the Chinese have only 4 total medals less than the USA.

I know this, I was stating in general that the other medals should count.

it wasn't directed to you, but if you look for a winner, that would be the most fair way, IMO
