OK...since possibly the biggest story of this season and maybe from any recent season couldn't be discussed properly in the thread about Brady and his injury....I thought I'd pose the question in a seperate thread. Are the Patriots still a Super Bowl and playoff contender even though Brady is out with a season ending injury?
too early to tell. Wait to see what Cassell has to offer, who knows? I mean other teams a lot less talented than the Pats have made it to the Super Bowl without a QB (i.e. Dilfer, Grossman)
I'd say that they are definitely still a playoff contender but not a serious Super Bowl contender. If Cassel can manage the team and not make big mistakes then they are certainly talented enough to make the playoffs but without Brady to lead them in the playoffs....I can't see them getting close to the Super Bowl. Time , of course, will tell.
I feel that they can still make the playoffs, but I don't think they'll be able to make the Super Bowl.
I remember saying the Patriots were done awhile back when Bledsoe went down... I'm not counting them out just yet...
The same happened to me 7 years ago. Who knows...Cassel might be the new Brady, and Brady end up like Bledsoe...you know, karma and all that...
they have alot of talent on both sides of the ball, but you can not lose the nfl mvp and expect to flow into the playoffs. its going to be a tough year and the pats are going to have to fight to get a wildcard.
I think this is going to allow some other talented teams to shine. I don't think we'll see them make the playoffs with Cassel this year.
Dunno....they are in the same division as the Fins and Jets and Bills. Bills looked good Sunday and Jets have Favre.....I think 10-6 wins that division though.
Omen, what? It's way too early, hell Cassell hasn't even started a single NFL game yet. Not just this year, but ever.
