What Player Would You Build Your Team Around?

This is something I've thought about during the last couple of baseball seasons. Who would be the first player you would think of to build a successful club around?

My choice would be either Grady Sizemore or Brian McCann.

My reasoning for Sizemore is because IMO, he can do it all. I've also read and heard interviews with him and he seems like an intelligent leader that wants to win.

My reasoning for McCann is because not only is he a great baseball QB, he is also a guy that will smack the crap out of the ball for ya.

Both of these guys are young as well and haven't hit there peak IMO.

What does everyone else think? Choose pitching or position players. Whatever you think would be the most important for making a winning MLB team.

Right now?....Why wouldn't you say someone like Jeter? Great player and has won championships. Knows what it takes to be a team leader on a winner.

It'd be a hard decision between Hanley Ramirez and Grady Sizemore for me. I'd give a slight edge to Grady because of being a CF.

I think it's interesting no one has mentioned a pitcher yet. Would anyone build their club around a dominate starter or 'cough' a closer?

You're not in yet 27. I do agree when he starts he doesn't seem to lose though.
