North America and South America are different continents, though. By your logic (the assumption that large landmasses being connected makes them one continent), there would be no "Europe", just Eurasia.

It actually is in the book, but they didn't create it. Oceania is the other one, which is completely fictitious, I believe.

My logic? No, I'm just saying we'll call ourselves America if we feel like it, and you can go ahead and continue to call yourselves Mexico. Unless you feel that North America is more appropriate.
