Gameday Thread Polls?

Can we end the Gameday thread polls at a regular schedule, say before kickoff? This will make them more meaningful since certain polls have been open even after the game is complete, and that throws things off will all the bandwagon jumpers.

After posting this, I noticed there isn't a time option in the poll setup, only an end-day option. Maybe a future modification will allow this?

 

Whoops I read everything wrong and thought you meant close the gameday threads before the game, So I accidentally voted for leave open til after game... My vote really was for close before the game start :icon_cry:

Anyone in the Eagles Bears thread knows my vote, glad I'm not alone in my thought process on this.

 

I think this is a legitimate topic for discussion, rather than the troll threads I sometimes post in this section. Guess I'm the poster who cried wolf too many times?

Take for example the Eagles vs Bears SNF thread where the poll is still open. Makes it seem like a good portion of posters thought the Bears were going to win before the game started, but the Eagles were certainly the favorites before kickoff. So it is wrong to have the poll open as it became increasingly obvious what the outcome was going to be.

 

Well we can add the date for the day before to close the threads.

 

ofc. close them before kickoff.

 

I actually voted Bears when it was still in the first quarter. Bears rule primetime.

I say they should be closed before hand, but it's not the end of the world...

 

It's all because bigsexy81 made a HUGE rant on the Eagles-Bears thread about people voting after the game was over

Someone needs to chill out.

 

I don't know, why it is so important. You can't win anything here, or vote for an award or whatever.

Since there is no mod, that can close the threads not only on a day, but on a specific time and I didn't have always the time to close them I can offer 3 options at this time.

1. Keep it as it is
2. I set a date for the polls to close, what will be 12am CET on gameday / 6 pm EST the day before gameday
3. I save myself a little time and don't add polls

 

I say lock em on saturday On second thought Olly, I'll close them on Sunday morning at 8am pacific time, and if people are late, oh well....problem solved...

Not having polls makes sense.Most people name their picks in each thread anyway.

 

It's already settled, Olly will put up the threads "WITH" polls and I will close them at 8am Sunday morning Pacific time and Monday night and Thursday night games will be closed by 4pm the same day Pacific time.
