For me it's all about him having been given one last chance and then screwing it up in less then half a season. To give him another chance AFTER this LAST chance sends a really bad message. Plus he's a Cowboy so heck him : )
everybobdy acts like they never done a bad thing or had second chances thidsies or fouthsies .......... he who has no sin cast the first stone
Orenthal James Simpson was not a member of a NFL team at the time of his trial. Ray Lewis was convicted of obstruction of justice and did not murder anyone. The name you are looking for is Rae Carruth, He was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and using an instrument to destroy an unborn child. He was sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison. However, Carruth was found not guilty of first-degree murder and was spared the death penalty. Just a Police Blotter update.
Would my employer give me this many opportunities? And if I was told I have one final chance and I messed it up again, would I expect to be given ANOTHER chance? Both answers are no. Banish him, and let him roam the streets freely to break as many laws as he wants. Everyone will be happier.
i find it unlikely that he'll be suspended for the rest of the season. Then Goodell might as well just ban him now. Do you really think he'll suspend him for the year, and then actually reinstate him?! I expect a four-week suspension with a big-a$$ fine, and eventually he will be banned for life. I don't think this was quite big enough to warrant a lifetime ban just yet, even with Pacman.
Wow, just wow......totally hypocritical of you considering your stance on the death penalty. You don't believe in having a criminal be put to death but yet you don't elieve in 2nd chances either? Care to explain that because it's pretty confusing. I voted for 1 year.......he'll be made to enter rehab and deal with his alcohol/drug problems and once again be give ANOTHER chance.:icon_rolleyes:
What does that have to do with my stand on the death penalty? If you killed someone, you should go to jail for life. End of story. The point I was trying to make, is that there are other players out there, who have done worse things than Pacman ever did, and they're still allowed to play. One of them did it when he already was a professional player. If you're punishing one, then punish all of them...or don't do anything at all.
By giving someone a life sentence instead of death you are giving them a 2nd chance. Just sounds a little contradictory to me.:dontknow:
So you want them to put Pacman down just for making it rain and going at it with his baby-sitter? I didn't realize you were from Texas. :moe: And how, exactly is a life sentence a second chance?
Ehhh, not really... giving him a second chance would be shortening his time in prison due to good behavior and set him free, even under probation. That's what I'd call a second chance. Now just for the record, I don't share TJs beliefs on the death penalty. I agree with it, but that's for another thread.
Yeah, I'm not going to derail the thread anymore than it already is.......but a lot of times a life sentence turns out to be anywhere from 7 to 20 years, hardly what I would call life. Ok I'm done.
Back on topic: Ban his butt. Enough chances he's had. He doesn't need to be charged, Goodell re-instanted him upon the promise of being a good citizen. And TJ, "Making it rain and going at it with his babysitter" is downplaying what he's done. Because of his acts, a man is paralyzed. And before you label me with the hater tag again, no, it has nothing to do with being a cowboy.
I find ironic, after how critical you have been of pople like Leonard Little and Jerremy Stevens. Oh, well...good thing you're not a hater.
I took the thread to mean what is going to happen vs what I would like to see happen. I think he'll get the rest of the year to enter rehab and get his crap in order with another chance at the end of that time..............where as I wouldn't have given him another chance after his last run in. Some of you say, "but he's never been covicted"......doesn't matter. The NFL is a buisness.....any buisness has the right to remove someone from their company that reflects badly on that buisness.
I don't get it... ? How is it ironic? Because Leonard has been a good citizen after 2 DUIs and a murdered woman? You don't see me rooting for him, do you?
