think about it this way who has no oline and no QB only gets thrown 2 about 5 times a game its Calvin Johnson the dude is a freak on the seaon he only has 39 catchs 774 thats 20 yards a catch with 7 yards avg yac with 6 TDs and those stats were made with 4 different QBs throwing him the ball if he has a real QB to get him the ball can you imagine what he could do !!!
So RF52 after all your rambling and yakking about what a joke of a list it was....you agreed not only with the top two but the top pick also...interesting commentary there. If I were picking a top wr at this point...I'd have to say Johnson also. He does it without the great qb and without all the baby momma drama that so many others do also.
tsz i was not saying that santana was the best i was responding to ali who thought i was talking about randy moss when i was talking about santana no one's knocking CJ weezy but AJ and Fitz are just better right now by a teensy bit douge just cuz the first two are kinda obvious the rest of the list blows
but who gets them the ball and how many time are they thrown to in a game thats where its not even close if you remember back on draft day the only thing people were talking about was that megatron was a once in 20 years type of player and the scary thing is he has lived up to the hype without a team around him
i disagree with hines ward being "a joke" to be in this discussion. being a WR isn't just catching the ball now.. it's about all the little things Hines Ward does too. Hines is willing to do whatever to help the Steelers out, willing to do things other WRs won't or can't do.. so how is he not a top 10 WR?
Hines Ward is top 10. easy. he's the most well-rounded wr in the league. his skills are diminishing but he's still the #1 guy in pittsburgh's run heavy offense. holmes should be #1 but he's not. after last nights game, i'm sticking with boldin.
Is Tyree one of the best then too? It's not all about the stats, you can see by the way they play but the best recievers do tend to get very good stats even in crappy situations.
sure it does....it means something but when it comes to pure talent it really doesnt mean much. Alot of superbowl teams have alot of players who are average at best help them win a superbowl, im not saying ward is average but when it comes down to it theres alot of WRs that are better than him
Well I'm just saying the best QB's are generally considered those that can take their team to a SB and win it, why doesn't the guys he throws to get some credit?
why stop at WR? max starks through a pretty nasty block for willie in the superbowl, im sure we'll see his hall of fame ballot any time now. oh wait, willie parker had that 75 yard run in the superbowl and he had a pretty solid season that year, hes obviously an elite back based off just that. winning a superbowl is a team effort, it doesnt make a great QB or any other player just because they have a ring.
