Yeah....horrible doesn't really even begin to describe it. My friend made me sit through it once & I wanted to shove burning coals into my eyes & ears so it would just GO AWAY.

i havent actually seen it, but i was wondering if anyone else has? i remember it was the movie jerry, george, and elain were going to see in the "Chinese restaurant" episode of seinfeld.

so ive really got a 3 part question

    1) have you seen it?
    2) if you answered yes to the first question, is it really that bad?
    3) if you answered yes to the first question, is it worth my looking into?

what made wall-e so great was that there was very little dialog, yet was able to tell a story so amazingly well.

Think of it like Wall-E is the animated charlie chaplin/ buster keaton, in that he can visually express him emotions, especially that of humor, which is not easy to do for even live actors. If you watch it closely, you can tell what emotion wall-e is conveying be it sad or humorous, yet wall-e's expression never changes. If you are looking for a direct comparison of the love story (which is the main story of Wall-E) compare it to Charlie Chaplin’s adoration of blind flower girl Virginia Cherrill in City Lights.

I didn't even get into how the film displays the over indulgence and wastefulness of the human race that trashed their planet so bad that they had to abandon it for space only to turn into laze fat slobs. To point this out to children, the targeted audience is bold, to say the least.

I thought wall-e was well put together, intelligent and awesome how with such little dialog, that they were able to convey such a meaningful and deep story.

    Still haven't watched Wall-E.

Sounds like it's split down the middle as far as who likes it, and who doesn't.

I guess I will break the tie once I watch it.

I don't think anyone doesn't like it here so far.
I just don't like it as much as the other Pixar flicks I mentioned.... I think the main reason being the commentary on man kind was a bit overdone for me and it didn't have as much veiled adult humor as Pixar usually does. It's still a good movie.

Oh, well then I'm sure I will like it.

That's exactly why I loved that movie so much--there's nothing funnier or sweeter than Chaplin & Keaton movies.

I wanted so much to love that movie, Mike...but just could not get into it, despite the gorgeous cinematography. :icon_sad:

As for me, I'm currently finishing up this ridiculous French film called Novo. It's bizarre & awkward, but almost worth it to watch my favorite Spanish actor stumble through it in his horribly broken French.
