Le'Ron McClain, the Ravens' leading rusher from last season, is back to being the team's starting fullback. While McClain was never the Ravens' full-time tailback last season, he led the team with 902 yards rushing -- 231 more than the second-leading rusher ( Willis McGahee). At this weekend's minicamp, McClain has returned to being the lead blocker, lining up in front of Ray Rice.

I'm fairly sure that they'll utilize him as a tailback even if he does line up like a fullback.

Yea he will still get touches, I know he is probably disappointed because he won't get nearly the carries he got last year, unless Mcgahee gets hurt again, then again he may get alot of carries lol

they need to figure out a way to still feed the ball to all of the backs for a few reasons. they know they have some talent back there and if they can keep all of their legs fresh but still active every week, it will be a powerful weapon for them late in games and late in the season. also, it will continue to keep the pressure off of their young qb so he can develop properly at his own pace.

they pass to their backs a lot too in this offense. i think their backs had 600 touches last year with runs and passes. I think they still need to get mcclain 10-15 touches a game to keep him active and interested and ready in case of injuries.

The Giants are a perfect example of how 3 backs being used on a regular basis can pay off. Hopefully the Ravens use all 3 guys regularly.

I totally agree with you, hopefully this is how they plan on doing it this season. I think a healthy mcgahee is still a very good back and he will get more of the carries if healthy with Mcclain and Rice as our Ward and Bradshaw. The styles are different but we can have similar effectiveness

Yeah you like how i corrected myself half way thru the post LOL, but seriously if Mcgahee is healthy he is still a gamebreaker and will get more touches

hes the best runner on their roster imo, he really could be a top runningback in the league if he was a full time guy. a lead blocker is just a waste imo. i love how he runs, he doesnt look for holes he just goes forward and damnit i admire that lol. they got some solid RBs though, i dont think mcgayfag will be there much longer, especially if hes gotta keep dealing with ryan clark but mcclain and rice will make him expendable
