Wide receiver Kelley Washington, who tried out for the Ravens last weekend, has agreed to a contract with the Ravens, his agent said Wednesday. The contract is believed to be a one-year deal for the veteran minimum. Washington competed with Jerry Porter and Tab Perry in mini-camp last weekend, and he appeared to have the best showing, hauling in a diving catch and collecting a touchdown pass from quarterback Troy Smith. "I think he's extremely excited about the opportunity," said Washington's agent, Chad Speck. "He grew up in Stephens City, Va., which is just a couple hours down the road. So it kind of feels like he's getting to come home to play as well as come into a situation where it's a really good football team with a great young quarterback and a team that obviously had a lot of success. So he's excited about the opportunity to come in and compete and hopefully earn some playing time as well as help the team win games."

Solid 4th WR who will be able to make some plays for us, also play on special teams, which i know Harbaugh likes

    86WARD -

    He's really not solid. He's actually very unsolid for a 4, 5, 6 receiver.

Y shouldn't we? He can play special teams, We signed him for the minimum, even if Marcus Smith beats him out for the 4th spot he'll be the #5 and play special teams. Sorry this wasn't the splash you were looking for. And he wasn't a Bengals reject, He signed with New England for 5 years at 22 Million and the bengals couldnt afford to pay him seeing that they had TJ, Chad and Henry already

i could go on and on about how unexciting this signing is and how he will be a non factor, but i would prefer you just take these off

That was cute :icon_cheesygrin:, but wrong, i put this signing in perspective but this is just a case of steelers fans with condesending attitudes about a guy who is serviceable.

if he was a steeler i would expect failure as well so i just dont see him as servicable

He's gonna be a 4th or 5th WR, our success wont hinge on his play but i think there is enough talent there to give him a shot. Obviously our opinions of him are different so we'll have to agree to disagree on that, I personally think if he wins the spot as the #4 that he can do some things in cam's system, and that's without Ravens glasses on lol.

see what you heckers did! you made me log in, he will actually be a very nice addition to the recieving core, he has size and good hands, you didnt expect him him to get much time behind Moss and Welker did you? besides he doesnt have to be very good to play against the db's in the AFC North...
