Chiefs DE/DT Glenn Dorsey Could Be The Odd Man Out?

Looking at the moves the Chiefs have made this offseason, it appears the team is preparing to dive into the 3-4 defense more quickly than originally thought after drafting LSUs Tyson Jackson and Purdues Alex Magee. With Jackson already penciled in to start at one DE spot, it could mean that Glenn Dorsey will have to fend off Magee for the other starting job. Considering the new regime may very well be partial to the guy it drafted in Magee, Dorsey more of a 4-3 type player may face an uphill battle to remain in the starting lineup.

should have just traded him if this is gonna be the case....i would think a team like houston would be all over this guy

I could see the Lions making a move for him for maybe a conditional pick, that way it leaves them open to getting a LT, and the Chiefs can continue to build with more picks and losing players that don't fit and take up space.

you dont want a #5 overall pick that hasnt even begun to tap into his potential to go to waste though, its not like hes a bust and has been floating around for 10 years, the man is an animal and the cheifs have just used him so wrong since day one. he still has alot of value imo

The conditonal pick could be a second rounder. But his talent is going to be wasted in a 34.

houston always wants to make the defense better....having okoye and dorsey would be beast, williams would have 30 sacks lol.

i just dont get why one of these 34 teams dont go after him. houston, indy, jax, tenn, buffalo, god forbid washington, carolina, st louis (would be beast also), seattle, atlanta, TB, new orleans, detroit....all of whom could use help in the middle and alot of which would be completely dominated dlines

rams would have long, carriker, dorsey
washington would have haynesworth, orakpo and dorsey
new orleans would have ellis and dorsey as hammers in the middle
buffalo would have stroud at overtackle and dorsey at undertackle
jax would have henderson over and dorsey under

hes just to good to waste damnit lol

I say the Lions because he would be a great leader for the defense for many years along side Hill at NT.

This is so true. How can a team give up on this guy so quickly. It is not like he has been a major bust so far in his career

because they are going to a 34 and dorsey is not made for it, he is better for a 43

Blah I just think this report is bullcrap, no way the Chiefs are going to give up on him this quickly, I just don't see it happening. And I find it hard to see any team blowing them away with a wicked offer.

the chiefs could easily just give up on him, this chiefs team didnt draft him

I dont care if it was this regime or not. To give up on a guy like this this early just because you didnt draft him is utterly goobered. I hate that excuse and we hear it way to often
