Sports Illustrated's Peter King, who has had pretty good access to Favre in the past, had some interesting Favre/Vikings tidbits in his weekly "Monday Morning Quarterback" column. The most interesting information comes in these two graphs: "[Favre's] going to have a make a decision whether to join the Vikings very soon, probably by this weekend, because the Vikings want to know what their 2009 future is at quarterback. I'm told the organization won't wait for a decision much longer, and if he has to get a minor operation to snip the damaged right biceps tendon that has been giving him pain, he's going to have to do it soon. Like, within a week. King writes that Favre needs the surgery to release the biceps tendon and that the tendon is "hanging on by a thread." Source: Star-Tribune
Anyone who thinks Favre will make up his mind whether to play for the Vikings or not by this weekend, don't be fooled, lol. This is Brett Favre we are talking about.
He will announce, that he still love the game and that he had to talk to his family, blah, blah, blah
the only decision he is making this weekend is between the dark wranglers and the very dark wranglers
because his last memory for me on the gridiron still burns in my head. running off the field and not congratulating Pennington after the game.
Yeah, that too... One week, oh Brett Favre is coming back, what a story to cover. The next week: Brett Favre is not coming back, what a shame. The very next week: Brett Favre is coming back. As the media, we have to beat on a dead horse with this story like we always do.
I hope Favre plays one more season because I want to see the Bears make his next visit to Soldier Field on December 28th a memorable one just like his last visit to Chicago in 2007 when he was crying like the little snitch that he is about how cold it was outside that day after the game.
