As far as surprising, I'd say Detroit. Not so much "Holy crap, Playoffs?!!!" but "Damn, 7-9?"

After that, if the Saints can step up on D, they could have a repeat of '06.

You owe every member of the site $1 for stealing the most obvious choice from them.

They had quite a few close games last year (keeping even with Indy, for example), and they had a crapload of draft picks that could easily pan out. 6-10 or 7-9 wouldn't surprise me now that they have an actual QB.

Packers!! :icon_cheesygrin: Not just because I'm a homer either, because they lost alot of close games last season, and I believe their D is going to be MUCH better this season.

A little hard to call the Texans a surprise with their 2nd straight season at 8-8. This is probably a stretch, but I'll go with the 49ers.

The Cheifs if Cassell wasn't just a product of the Patriots offense. Haley's a damn good coach.

caldwell might mess things up in indy. The Titans lose Haynesworth, Jaguars suck without healthy fred taylor or without Taylor at all.

Not to be a homer or anything, but how do you guys see denver doing this season, I think that if Orton can just not throw interceptions and manage the game and our Defense improves, then i dont see why we cant challenge SD for the division. What do you guys think?

Agreed...I think Houston has a shot to make something happen next year

I think Chris Simms will end up as the starter in Denver...Call me crazy, but I think he could flourish in McDaniels system.

I'm saying the Colts because so many are saying they will be way off with the loss of Dungy and Harrison.

MileHigh....I think Orton can be better in a better system with weapons to throw too. People forget what he did at Purdue and his rehab from shoulder injury set him behind Grossman. This will be a true test for Orton. If he can't do it at Denver then he can't do it anywhere.

I think thats a pipe dream at best, teams will run all over the defense and keep Orton off the field. Remember, McDaniels did nothing to improve the front seven so far and that was the problem with the defense.
