Greg A. Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Aaron Kampman has not granted any interviews since the Packers switched from the 4-3 to the 3-4 defense. There is speculation that Kampman is unhappy with switching positions after seven years in the same position and playing at a Pro Bowl level. Kampman is in a contract year and the Packers don't seem eager to talk extension until they see how he makes the transition. Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
It's going to be difficult to go from playing with your hand on the ground your whole career to rushing from an upright position. A.J. Hawk said he's looking good...take it for what it's worth. In the 3-4 if there's no rush on the outside, the D is going to struggle...
i would imagine kampman is a little nervous, especially if he feels this will not be a good position for him. he would have gotten paid big time after this season and this change may have just cost him millions of dollars.
Last season the Packers were super predictable. They were pretty much just manning up and going. They have a lot to learn with the 3-4 and they'll have to think but Capers is one of the best in the business at running a 3-4 so they're in good hands.
