soooooooooooo.....why is everyone so upset? I mean really people.....it's not all that important in the grand scheme of life. I am surprised this thread is still in the site news forum and hasn't been moved to the fight club. It's Steve and Sweets board and if they want to remove things then so be it. If people think it's too vanilla then they won't come back. If it's still a place you want to come to then keep coming. Yeah there are post tramps and rep tramps and vcash tramps.....where in the site rules is that breaking any rule? There's been plenty of post whoring in here too. Plenty of conmversation that wasn't on the original subject..... I liked the rep and the arcade. I tried the casino a few times but it didn't catch my interest. Don't want rep tramps?? Then set it up so it can't be done. Do away with it or figure out a way to limit it. I have an 11 year old.....I kind find plenty of places to play free games online. Ditto. Ditto part deux. My whopping 220 posts in 6 months don't even come close to the amount of time I spend on the site reading all the news, reading posts in interesting threads and cfreaking out repped posts. Except for the abuse of the rep tramp thread(s), I thought repping was a really good recognition and feedback system for the poster and a good way toward the end of the month to check out the posts of those nominated for awards and eventual voting. Really a shame that a good idea with good intention has to go by the wayside. Alas.
The problem with this logic is that Steve and Sweets would rather not pay out of pocket im sure, and for that to happen they need sponsors and those sponsors need people to read thier advertisements which will not happen with this ^^ kind of thinking. That logic only works if this site is a hobby for Steve and Sweets and only a hobby. Golf, fishing, etc pay a fee get entertained, we have some cool butt people here but cool enough for S&S to keep splittin the bill? probably not.
Let me interject here because as Doug says it does seem as if members that aren't really upset about the changes, are really upset about the changes and you know who you are. The casino and arcade are NOT coming back there are literally millions of arcades and gaming sites out there we don't need it here and it sucks the life out of the server. As far as rep, we are looking into a mod that would let members high 5 or thank someone for a good post at the end of their posts but that won't happen until the site is fixed with all the behind the scenes things that need to be done. The vCash at this moment will not be messed with if at all so no need flipping out about it. Now if getting rid of a few things 3 to be exact is going to send you guys to another site, oh well, but to say there is nothing to do here in the off season is ridiculous there are other sports to talk about, the off topic area and we are still posting a crap load of football stories daily. HH, posting in the lounge areas has always been called post whoring and you have kept that place well stocked nothing wrong with that, I thank you. It's easy to come here and say what's wrong with the site and what you want and don't want and it's also very expensive to foot the bill for a site that has all the bells the whistle that members want and have a very speedy server, we don't force anyone to pay to have fun here and we love that you guys enjoy the site but at the end of the day the site is a hobby for us right now and putting $2000.00 more a year into the site for the extras and a fast server isn't something we are willing to do.
I totally understand and think the site is great. I was sayin that the bells and whistles attract people that will read advertisement that helps pay the bills, that all.
Why is Dougerrrr so upset? BTW in my post I was just being honest, obviously I'd prefer the arcade staying but it's not like I'm pissed or angry about it, just giving my 2 cents. Personally I don't visit the forums much during the off-season let alone post. The arcade had me coming when normally I probably wouldn't, but like already stated it's Steve and Sweets' forum they can do whatever the hell they want with it. It'd be one thing if this was some pay site, then there would be expectations, it's completely different when its free and they're taking time out of their day to run this site as well as using their own money.
yeah....my money is worthless because ben roethlisberger is making 100 million...:icon_rolleyes: jackass like i said, placing bets like you do to never really lose is cheating the system and when you and others get into the 100 billions and trillions and when people give that away and everyone is getting ridiculous amounts it ruins the idea and people start to not care about it...making them reset it, ive seen it done on 2 other sites before
Like the NFL should do, the rookies have to earn their vcash. :redface: I saw this on another board. As the rep system, it would be a cool stuff, but it also would be ruined by thank tramps. The problem does not come from those features but from people who take all the interest out of them.
and thanks or "like" thing like facebook has would be cool...nothing is kept track of, its just a way to say "hey good post" and thats that, no number or anything to go along with it and when you thank someone no one cares but the person you are thanking or liking
