At the NFL Rookie Symposium in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., 49ers rookie WR Michael Crabtree told CBSSports.com in an exclusive interview that the foot he had a stress fracture in back in February won't keep him from being ready for the start of training camp. "The foot is great," Crabtree said when asked how his offseason has been. "I'm ready. I'm running and everything." Source: CBSSports
LOL but we do. And coming from a Raiders fan, this is a perfect case of pot calling the kettle black. :icon_cheesygrin: I'm not holding my breath on him winning OROY. He has to overcome his foot injury and he's a step behind already by missing OTAs. Besides our best offensive weapon is still Frank Gore whom Hill likes to throw dump-offs to. Added to the fact, speaking of Hill, he does a good job in spreading the offense so we'll probably have a number of 600/700-yard receivers (including Vernon) and a fair share going to Gore himself. And let's not forget that keeping Bruce apart, our WR core is very young. Brandon Jones, I wish we would cut him to make room for Battle (whom I like as a very underrated player, always converting critical third downs) or Zeigler, but we're paying him a decent amount of money. Josh Morgan and Jason Hill complete the picture. It's understandable, though, that a Raiduhs fan wants Crabs to fail so miserably in order to somewhat justify the DHB pick. Like Robin Williams said: "It's not your fault... it's not your fault". :icon_cheesygrin:
i never wanted crabtree i was happy when we passed on him. DHB is always going to be considered a reach so I am not worried about Crabtree failing to justify DHB
I think Maclin is in a much better position to win offensive ROY, with a better QB and more weapons around him, but regardless this is really good news for Niners fans.
