the guys from fishtown that killed this kid that was at the bachelor party were at the game prior to going into mcfaddens.

typical fishtown/kenzo lifelife dirtbags that are usually the ones causing trouble at philadelphia sporting events. personally i think a small nuke should be dropped on those two neighborhoods.

on this halladay situation, amaro needs to get his head out of his butt. he insults the jays by offering carrasco, donald & haap ???? carrasco sucks, he'll be licky to get past AAA, donald will be a utility player IF, he makes it to the bigs & haap is nothing more than a #3. you're not going to get a guy like halladay for crap. riccardi is not ed wade but amaro might as well be.

especially after the cards gave up their top 2 prospects to get Holliday. The trade will never happen, imo

Amaro also offered Taylor in that deal, I believe.

Amaro's got to make it happen. I hate the word "prospect."

Deal looking closer for Halladay | Philadelphia Inquirer | 07/28/2009

Fans in Philadelphia may be giving up on acquiring Toronto ace Roy Halladay, but people elsewhere think it's just a matter of time before the righthander joins Cole Hamels atop the Phillies' rotation.
For one thing, Toronto general manager J.P. Ricciardi is said to be unhappy with the Blue Jays' thin list of minor-league prospects and knows he has to replenish his system from the outside. According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, Ricciardi will have to pull the trigger on a deal for Halladay and most likely will need to do so with the Phillies, who can offer four prospects.

me too, the best point I have heard is that prospects are prospects and superstars are superstars. happ will never be more than a #3 at best and who knows about these minor league "stars" lets get halladay.

I heard that Ricciardi said the chances the Jays trade Halladay are now very slim...

Just get Halladay here Ruben...get it done.

There were reports Monday that talks soured between the Phillies and Blue Jays over the weekend, even turning nasty as the teams differed on fair value for Halladay. A Phillies spokesman made a point to gather the club's beat reporters before Monday's game against the D-backs at Chase Field to tell them there is no animosity between the Phillies and Blue Jays "or any other club that they're engaged in trade discussions with from our point of view." Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi has been far more visible and vocal in recent weeks. He told FOXsports.com Sunday the chances of trading Halladay are "very slim."

Ricciardi may be making those statements though as a ploy to get a higher price. I'm sure the chances are fairly slim, but it's hard not to dream about how good this team would be with Halladay.

Phillies and Toronto still hammering out deal for Halladay - Sports Rumors - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

The Philadelphia Phillies are still believed to be the frontrunner to nab Halladay. Rumor had it yesterday that talks between the two sides had become contentious and the Phillies had redirected its interest to the Cleveland Indians' Cliff Lee(notes). But Philly is denying any animosity and it's believed the negotiations will go down to the wire on Friday.

Pedro to start Friday for IronPigs | Philadelphia Inquirer | 07/28/2009

Lidge almost blows it giving up a 2 run homer to reynolds (on my fantasy team :icon_cheesygrin:) but gets his 20th save. At this point last year he had 25 saves, with him missing time due to injury and the blown saves, he is not that far off.

Phillies 19-5 in July and 19-3 in their last 22 games. Can you say on FIRE!!!

He won the cy young for the american league last year, lol but I think that was a career year. I personally don't think he would be a good fit for us and is a far cry from halladay. He had a great year in 05, then was mediocre until winning the cy young last year and has been up and down this year. I would give up the prospects for halladay, but I would rather have our prospects than lee.

Do you think the phils have a chance to make a run at the world series again with the roster we have now? We have been pretty impressive.

i didn´t say that the phillies can´t win against the yankees and red sox ;)

but look at the rays, they´re 55-46 and are 3rd in the AL East ;), it´s the best division in the MLB and thats impressive to be #1 there.. but i know they yanks have a 100000000000 $ salary :D
