Eli Manning is about to become the highest-paid player in the NFL. The Giants quarterback and former Super Bowl MVP has agreed to a new seven-year, $106.9 million contract that he is expected to sign later today, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. Though it's not the largest deal in NFL history, the average of $15.27 million per year is a new NFL high. Source: New York Daily News
i like you, i hate eli manning he is a god **mn piece of crap that owes his defence every penny he is getting
So is Brad Johnson..... No way in hell does he deserve this type of contract. Just baffles the hell out of me. What were the suits thinking on this one?
Brad Johnson was pretty good back in the day. I think when he started using a walker to ambulate to the huddle he was past his prime. Yes. Eli doesn't deserve the money. I agree. But I also like to be the glass half full guy except when people refer to the Raiders.
Mike, is your ignorance bliss? Maybe we should have not extended Eli and signed fantasy winners like Romo or McNabb. It's funny you guys should be happy we extended and over paid, right, that just makes sure the Giants suck longer, right, but no, you guys are so bitter. Anyway, I love it! This is a great day... I've enjoyed all the snitching and moaning. He and the Giants did well... he could have got more.
Yeah this is a pretty shocking turn of events. No offense SoDev, but there's no way he deserves this kind of money...
im not bitter, im laughing at the fact that your stupid freaking team gave a mediocre at best QB all that money
Who said he deserves it... I don't think any athlete should make that much per year. It's the going rate for a franchise QB in 2009... in 3 years it will be bargain bin crap.
im not bitter, manning was, is, and always will be a piece of crap im not mad at him, im just honest you go and celebrate this fantastic news, ill continue laughing at the stupid management decision to pay him that kind of coin
