None of the quarterbacks were stars in Saturday’s intrasquad scrimmage. Starter Matt Cassel threw two interceptions and fumbled for the second straight day. “There were some good things and some bad things,†Cassel said. “We did some really good things at times and there were a few balls that got away from me a little bit.†Cassel fumbled when he was hit by Larry Johnson, who was trying to pick up a blitzing linebacker. “That’s just something you’ve got to prevent,†coach Todd Haley said. “He’s got to keep two hands on the ball and Larry’s got to avoid him. You can’t let it happen.†Source: Kansas City Star
Seen this comming. Cassel was a product of his environment. If he was that good he wouldnt have sat so long.
^agree... I wouldn't put him in the category of Rob Johnson, but I would put him in the category of Matt Schaub (for the last couple seasons.) Although I do expect Schaub to start paying large dividends for the Texans this season...
I heard Thigpen has looked terrible this camp. It's scary to think about but Brody Croyle has looked better than anyone. I've even heard questions whether Thigpen will even make the team since they brought in Gutierrez.
lol...I'm not saying that Cassel will be "great" this year, but it's pretty funny before even a preseason game, in a scrimmage people are already jumping off the bandwagon. Just so everyone knows he looked terrible last preseason playing with the first unit. It's way too early, he's got time to develop chemistry in a game situation, this is practice.
Yep, practice is practice, the games and scrimmages don't count for a reason...don't start jumping ship already, damn.
I'm not jumping ship. I have faith we are making the right decisions. Give the new team some time to gel.
im not jumping ship i didnt like him or pioli they both come from that cheaters are winners organisation
It would seem so, but lets face it, if Cassel isn't the best QB on our team by far this year then we've got even bigger problems than I realize.
