Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said QB Kyle Orton remains the team's starting quarterback despite throwing three interceptions in the preseason opener. "I feel very confident where we're at," McDaniels said after the game. "He (Orton) made a few mistakes, but we're not going to go into this thing after the first preseason game and start tailspinning and doing this and that and making knee-jerk reactions." In the Broncos' first preseason game of their new era Friday, Orton threw three interceptions on his first three series. The Broncos rallied in the second half behind backup quarterback Chris Simms, but the San Francisco 49ers had picked on Orton just enough to pull out a 17-16 win before a sparse gathering at Candlestick Park. I get the sense McDaniels doesn't like to admit being wrong. I like Kyle, I really do but they can't ask him to sling the ball around all the time. He was staring down his receivers all night in that first half. He did have a nice first drive until the end zone pick but the 49ers seemed to be playing loose coverage at the start.
3 INTs in one preseason game shouldn't be enough to pull Orton -- and I don't even like Orton a little bit! Orton has been dubbed the starter and he should be given a couple more chances to lose the job. Plenty of QBs have had awful games and they bounce back. It's still early and the games don't even count yet.

lol...guys it's 1 preseason game...just to remind everyone how meaningful this was, Detroit was 4-0 in preseason last year.
i like orton alot but hes not fit for what they want to do....you know ho is a perfect fit though? jay cutler. this doucher had to start slinging around matt cassel rumors...
Jay Cutler didn't have a great preseason opener either, and he blamed Hester for the INT he threw. The guy is a cat with a big arm...nothing is his fault...and he throws his teammates under the bus. I would rather have a guy like Orton on my team.
WOW!!!! im totally speechless.. McDaniels is destroying the Broncos Franchise, 3 INT's in his first 3 series.. Your gonna need a much better QB than Orton and I hate to say this but Sims isn't the answer either ....
