What an epic way to end the game. It's even sweeter that it was against the Mets. Amazing.

 

I missed the game today...what were the highlights Dawk?

 

6 run first with a couple of 3 run homer's - werth and ruiz, perez didn't make it out of the first. mets clawed back in it and looked to be mounting something in the ninth, a couple errors and the mets were down only 2 with 2 men on and nobody out and lidge looking like he was heading for disaster. then bam, line drive into a triple play to end the game. It was sweet.

WOW...

 

the last time the Phillies had an unassisted triple play was early nineties, morandini against the Pirates. It was sick.

also, I was going to say ward, the ninth wasn't entirely lidge's fault, it was an error by howard and an error by bruntlett that set up the first run, but bruntlett more than made up for it.

 

One of the great things about the triple play was that it came off the bat of Francouer who robbed Bruntlett of his 4th hit in the top of the 9th.

 

That's sort of a relief to hear...

 

nice win today and another for ACE Cliff Lee. Also, Halladay got rocked again and has looked shaky at best recently.

also mets glorious season just got better, looks like santana needs surgery and is gone for the year and francoeur tears thumb ligament.

Rollins has seen two pitches so far and hit them both out of the yard tonight. 2-1 Phils in the top of the 3rd.

 

J Roll is the freaking man. Pirates picked up a run in that last inning...2-1 Phils...

 

Phillies tie it up in the ninth off capps. Ben Francisco double scores ruiz.

 

Shane gives the Phils the lead. Hopefully Lidge can lock it down.

 

Shane Triples in the go ahead run in the ninth and the Phillies re-take the lead. 4-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth.

 

Pirates win on a McCutchen HR. Lidge blows yet another save. Screw!
