The Dallas Cowboys host the San Fransisco 49ers at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday 08/29. Kickoff time is 8:00 pm EST. Discuss....
Dallas had the 49ers pinned deep with the score tided late in the game. They were getting after the 49ers QB in the endzone and he just throws the ball deep. Brown never looked for the ball and was called for a 35 yard PI.
That sucks and now I see that we've lost. More importantly how were the first teamers? Solid as in previous games? Many flags called against us? too many flags in the first 2 games by starters and backups.
The first teams did well on both sides of the ball. They did not play as well as last week. I still have not seen Dallas get any turnovers, and they had I think 8 flags. I will give a better breakdown later. Back to the Brown play, on the play before it WR went down and Brown stepped in front of him and dropped a pick 6. Jason Williams, Alan Ball and Choice all got hurt during the game. I have not heard any reports on how bad they are hurt. **********Automerged Doublepost********** The first team offense did a good job moving the ball. Both Williams and Hurd were out so the WRs were Austin and Crayton with Ogletree coming in as the 3rd WR. Ogletree made some nice plays and I think he is now the 5th WR. The line gave Romo a ton of time for most of the game. Romo did play well most of the time, I could tell he tries to protect the ball more when he moves. He did throw an INT when he tried to go deep instead of going to the middle to an open Witten. That being said the 9ers were not doing anything special on defense. I did not see any special blitzs and some of the time they were only rushing 3. The defense did OK as well. Neither unit looked as well as they did last week. Spencer seemed to be around the ball and QB a lot. Jenkins would make a good play and even a good tackle just to later to mess up. He seems better than last year. Overall if this was both teams build up for the season I am worried for both. I taped the game and will go back over it give a more in depth report later.
A lackluster performance, I thought. The first team offense looked OK, but there were still too many penalties that were committed at crucial times. What happened to Jerry's and Wade's promise that things were going to change?
cmon it's only the preseason fellas... are you guys seriously getting discouraged? Remember the playbooks are dumbed down alot, not showing many blitz packages, and from the games I saw it looked like the offensive plays/sets were really basic.
The Lions went 4-0 last year in the preseason. Look how it worked for them. Never jump to conclusions by watching the preseason.
Things did change last year everyone was talking about TO. Jerry got sick and tired of that and wanted to the talk to be about what was happening on the field. So to make sure it is all about the field Jerry fired TO and pt the score board too low so now all the talk about is on the field.
one thing that i idnt like was when Romo seemed to have a for sure TD by running it in he elected to throw the ball and it was incomplete.....i think he/or they might be making him over think crap
i saw that exact same thing, Omen. and they are. they need to let tony romo be tony romo. he's not peyton manning, he can't play like peyton manning. don't ask him to. let tony romo be tony romo.
