Coach Brad Childress made it clear he doesn't plan to play quarterback Brett Favre on Friday and indicated many of his other established starters won't play as well as the Vikings close the preseason against the Dallas Cowboys at the Metrodome. "I think we'll be able to get enough work out here, tomorrow we'll do a couple of things with our starting group and I think through the week next week we'll be OK," Childress said. "I don't see the upside [of playing him]. He made a nice jump from Week 1 to Week 2 and showed he has a good understanding of [things]." This comes as no surprise given that Childress also rested many of his starters the past two seasons in the final exhibition game. Source: Star Tribune
