Although it seemed to make sense for the Bears to pursue another running back following Kevin Jones' season-ending ankle injury, Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said the team is in no rush to make a move. The Bears are content with the combination of Garrett Wolfe and Adrian Peterson behind Matt Forte. Angelo said he envision a more expanded role for Wolfe, which would point to the former Northern Illinois star being the primary backup. "It's not like we're one short," Angelo said in an interview on the team's Web site. "If we need to go out and pick up another back, we have a short list where we can do that. But right now, nobody we would pick up would dress on Sunday. So we're going to go with the hand that we have and we're comfortable with, and then we'll just go from there.''

    Agreed...for the time being.

The drop off from Forte to Wolfe & AP is just too much to expect to live with this for long tho.

Do you think as the season goes along they will make a trade or do you think there will be someone available as a Free Agent that is a better option then the back-ups they have now?

No trade but there'll be a few out there that'll be better than Wolfe/AP...

Has Rhodes been picked up by anyone? The Bears seen first hand what he's capable of.

If someone has, I've missed it but that's a good example of a back who'd be able to spell Forte a lot better than what the Bears have.

& you're right, the Bears should know what he can do...lol

I don't think he has been picked up. He would be a good fit.

I'm suprised Dominic Rhodes hasn't been picked up any any team yet. Go get him now while you still can Jerry!

I don't see JA doing it. It'll be about the money more than anything.

You're right, that's ashame too because Rhodes is one of Smith's kind of guys... I don't see it happening either, just a little fantasy.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if the Bears stick with what they got at RB (barring any injuries) regardless if Wolfe/AP are help getting it done or not. I hope not though because if they do, they will wear the crap out of Forte by the beginning of december like they did last year.

It's like that silly BS I read that even tho Forte had so many touches, Turner "has a way of keeping players fresh". :icon_rolleyes:

As much as us Bear fans loved Mikey McCaskey taking a back seat, the Bears are still run like a George Halas team "throwing nickels around like manhole covers".

Oh yeah, being on the field for 84% of your team's offensive plays last year is keeping your running back fresh, lol. Wolfe/AP better be ready to step up to the plate and take some of the work load off of Forte's shoulders.
