Charlie Casserly of the NFL on CBS reports that a European country, such as England, might be looking to buy the St. Louis Rams and move them to Europe. The Rams are under contract in St. Louis through 2014.

How about taking the Jaguars instead? I'd be devastated if the Rams became the British Bulldogs :icon_sad:

No European country will ever buy a professional team.

I think this is a story because only Europeans are dumb enough to pay for this team. Any American would have to be payed.

The NFL needs to stay where the NFL is, in America.

I blame Madden games where it allows you to relocate to other countries like Mexico. Everything bad in football can be blamed on Madden

Just blame Roger Goodell since he dreams of putting a team in London.

Couple of problems with this. 1) It's the UK not England2) The country buying it? Not a wealthy investor, but the country itself? Get stuffed 3)You'll get good attendance for a bit of the first year, then it will drop. People wouldn't want to travel 300 miles to watch a team they really don't care about if it's there every week. The only reason so many people apply to the IS games is that it's a spectacle and it happens once a year. Put 16 of the games in and attendance will dwindle. If any country would be having a team, it would probably be Germany. They have a bigger audience than the UK.

Why cant this work, Green Bay is public traded and it works so why couldnt a Country add a tax that would go towards the owning of a franchise with the profits going back to the schools raods etc

If a country owns the team then that country's government would be involved in the ownership. :tsk:

Dont get me wrong, I think the NFL needs to stay in the states, and the Rams really need to stay in STL.

But with that being said I dont know if gov owning team would be that bad. Like I said profits could go back to the people in ways such as schools roads medicare and so on. I know its not huge profits but I think it would be enough to help.

Answer me this, would you be happy if you had to pay tax to own something you don't want? It's a freaking ridiculous idea to add a tax to pay for a minority sports team.

I pay taxes on all sorts of crap I dont want. Look how much of my money goes to Section 8 housing. If I had my way no one would tell me where my money goes, but that isnt how life works

A country buying a team... Yeah right. As if a country didn't have other priorities.
