Eagles Activate QB Michael Vick, Cut WR Hank Baskett

Lol at those crying over Baskett over Brown. Hank had one play that he could run that Brown can't and he dropped it too many times for Reid to call it. Neither had a shot to contribute much to the Eagles unless there is a run of injuries

 

Is Vick going to start in week 3 or are they going to have him ride the bench till the eagles get in a game where they are so far ahead they can put him in with no fear of him screwing up and losing the game?

 

Consensus is Vick is not a starter by any means.

 

1. Wasted a 2nd rounder on Brown, didn't waste any pick on Baskett.
2. Baskett came dirt cheap, whereas Brown is getting paid starter money to see five plays a game.
3. Baskett fits a better niche in this depth chart. Bigger, taller red zone target. Brown is the exact same as the other wideouts we have except he is slower and can't manage to get open.

Not a huge deal because it's our 5th WR but it was the wrong call IMO.

The fact that Brown IS a draft pick ALSO contributes to the fact that he is still on the team and Hank isn't. Yes Hank is taller and supposedly a great jumper so he should excel at the fade. But he didn't excel at the fade. Maybe SOME of that blame belongs to Donovan as well but it's a fact that the ONE thing Hank does better then Reggie never seemed to work. Hank dropped alot of balls and now that he's been phased out of special teams is more expendable then Reggie. Which admittedly is saying alot because Reggie is still very expendable as well at this point.

being a draft pick does contribute but the cap hit is by far the deciding factor. no way in hell they eat almost $6mil in cap space.
