The Detroit Lions have a lot of tickets to sell to avoid a blackout. The team said Wednesday it has 10,000 tickets available for Sunday’s home game against the Washington Redskins. If they’re not sold by Thursday—or Friday, if the NFL grants an extension — the game will not be on TV in the Detroit, Lansing, Saginaw-Flint and Toledo, Ohio, markets.

You'd think they would have an easier time selling tickets after the fight they put up against the Vikings. I haven't been paying attention to the skins, but I think Detroit has a chance in this one.

I thought it would be more like 50,000 tickets left. :icon_cheesygrin:

The Lions have a chance to win this one. Stafford hasnt played well, but that was to be expected. It will suck if they are not on tv and they win, who knows when we will see them win again.

10,000's not really a number the TV stations will cover...'dems is blackout numbers...

They need to get a "family friendly" ticket package together to try and move some of these tickets...

Good idea. For those that have a United Auto Workers Union Card, and burns it before the game, they get 1/2 price tickets for the family. Thats if they can get a Sunday off at their new McDonalds job.

They have "all you can eat seats" but apparently its not enough. The Fords need to understand that wins will put people in those seats, not gimmicks.

How much is that gonna suck if the lions first season win isn't broadcast. I am from michigan and believe me there will be a LOT of pissed off fans. I am not surprised by the lack of ticket sales though. Michigan has one of the worst economies of any state in the US. I think they were either 48, 49, or 50th out of 50. People can't afford some of the prices they ask for halfway decent seats plus parking in detroit is about the worst place to park in the state as far as price and availability goes.

eh the Lions are hit with a double whammy, crapty product plus an awful economy (I believe Detroit is one of the hardest hit big cities).

If it was one of the 2 maybe they would be able to overcome but really I can't blame them. I'm surprised they even sold out the opener with how bad it is there.
