The Minnesota Vikings host the San Fransisco 49ers at Metrodome on Sunday 09/27. Kickoff time is 1:00 pm EST. Discuss....
Should be a good game, but the Vikings win their home opener. The crowd will be pumped up and the offense will feed off of that and get off to a better start.
Yeah, they have the Williams up front clogging the middle. It will help the niners if EJ Henderson can't play due to injury.
like pctrips said, should be a great game. i'm not going to make a prediction but i will be interested to see how singletary's defense game plans for AP
This is it right here. I don't see the 49ers being able to stop AP, AD. And Gore is going to be in for a fight till the end trying to make something happen, I'll take Vikes on this one. 24-13 Vikings.
um, i'm not necessarily saying you're wrong but what are you basing your comment on? in the first 2 weeks, i've actually been more impressed with the 49ers run defense than the vikes run defense. right now, if anyone can contain AP, the 49ers may be one of the top picks.
Well if we can win this game the whole NFL will know that the 49ers are for real this year, I'm just hoping that Hill can throw for at least 200 yds or more.
Thats true, but I don't count out Favre like most do.. sure he hasnt did anything, but has he had too? As I said, they cant stop AP, ALL DAY.. i know they can contain him for most, but if they're not getting nothing, favre can throw it around a lil bit, get the Niners staying honest, and thats when AP will come into effect imo.
i haven't been real impressed with the vikes defense in these first 2 games. they've played the browns and lions, who both basically have rookie QB's. Both teams had success running the ball and other than some key rookie qb mistakes, both teams were able to pass the ball decently. the vikes D doesn't look as good as they have in the last couple of seasons to me. i'm not sure if teams are figuring out childress's scheme or if their talent is dropping off but maybe they'll get it turned around. **********Automerged Doublepost********** well, i wouldn't disagree that AP is almost unstoppable at this point but I'm just not sure why everyone is assuming the Vikes will stop Gore when they weren't really able to stop Jamal Lewis and Kevin Smith (last time I checked, Gore is a little better than either one of them)
I don't think it's that the Vikings can stop Gore but more of our Oline being able to do enough to open up holes for FG to run through, I'm hoping they use Coffee too.
