Every Panthers loss is one step closer to a high first round pick for SF. Keep up the good work Carolina.
neither team looked particularly good. the panthers ended up being the first team to give the game away.
I don't imagine Denvers ground game giving us much trouble, some people were throwing hissy fits when Cadillac and TB ran all over us but I wasn't too worried. If we can hold Carolina's ground game (sort of) in check than we can stop most rushing attacks.
You dident stop the run deangalo averaged almost 6 yards a carry the panthers were just dumb enough to give him the ball only 11 times.
Yea when the team had only 14 rushing attempts you dident hold them in check they were running the ball well were just to dumb to keep doing it.
They were held in check. Williams average about 100 yards a game last year, and J Stew over 50... Neither of them were even close to there averages. I don't think they had a carry over 20 yards in the game. That too me is holding a team in check. When you prevent a team with quite possibly the best duo of running backs in the league to achieving 100 yards combined I'd say that's a win. Not our problem they didn't continue running the ball, we can't control the amount of rushing attempts for the other team, they weren't getting enough production out of the ground game to stick with it I'm guessing, or maybe they just felt confident that they could move the ball through the air more effectively. Either way I've spent too much discussing this with you. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Sam Hurd's special teams penalties need to fuking stop. That block in the back was just stupid, and it's like the 3rd time in 3 games he's been flagged on special teams. And one other think that needs to stop, is Bobby Carpenter's playing time. I'm hoping we put and end to bobby carpenter playing on defense, is it possible that Victor Butler could step in and replace him immediately? Funny enough I thought Butler was injured like the rest of our rookies and wasn't dressed but when he made those sacks I was like nice. Bobby Carpenter was awful last night.
:icon_rolleyes: if thats what you call holding then in check then ok 5.8 yards average to a cowboys fans=holding them in check
Not that I want to give you a math lesson but just to let you know numbers can be miss leading. 64 yards on 11 carriers is not bad, however take away his run of 17 and of 14 and you 9 carriers for 33 yards which is not that good. Think of it this way, if you have a running back and he has carriers of 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, and 41 yards is that a good running attack? It would be a 5.0 yards per carrier but you are looking at a lot of drives that would not go that far. Just like the Panthers had a bunch of 3 and outs to start the second half of the game.
