No one has to tell veteran kicker John Carney that these could be his last days wearing a New Orleans Saints uniform because kicker Garrett Hartley is expected to be reinstated to the Saints' 53-man roster after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. That reinstatement is expected to come after Sunday's game against the Jets at the Superdome. Carney, 45, signed as a free agent with the Saints on Aug. 16, his second stint with the team, he made his last five field-goal attempts after his first attempt was blocked by Detroit in the opener. "I've been in a situation of insecurity before with the New York Giants, " Carney said Thursday. "I just cherish each opportunity and game and take it one week at a time."

If Tynes keeps missing long extra points like last week we'll take him back!

Carney has no distance and he's an old fart so we need to keep Tynes too anyway. Sucks taking 2 roster spots for kickers but it sucks more missing 21 yard field goals.

The Saints made the mistake of letting Carney go before, and the Saints front office has admitted that they have regretted that decision. I hope the Saints hang on to him until the PK position has been solidified. As you guys say, it sucks having 2 kickers on your roster, but it beats the hell out of missed field goals.
