David Carr knows how Eli Manning feels: literally. A week before the start of training camp last year, Carr was throwing passes in California when he suffered an injury to his foot similar to the one Manning endured in the Giants' 27-16 win at Kansas City on Sunday. Like Manning, Carr strained his right foot when he dropped back to pass in an unconventional fashion, putting more pressure on his plant foot than normal. "The way you come down on that right foot is kind of different," said Carr of the drop back where the right foot is planted well behind the body. "It's like the only time you put a lot of strain on your plant foot. Most of the time when you're dropping back normal there's nothing really wrong. But [Manning] was turning into it and put a lot of weight on it. That's when I did it. I was doing the same thing. It might be a quarterback thing." Carr can't help but think what his career might have been like had he had the kind of players around him in Houston that he has with the Giants. "Absolutely, it's human nature to think what it could have been like," he said. "But I'm on a great team now and if I get the chance to play, then I'll show what we can do."

eh, everything i've heard at this point says that manning CAN play, as long as he can play through the pain. typically he doesn't have a problem playing through pain.

They better hope Eli can play the whole game.

yes, starting in the 12/29/2007 game against the 15-0 patriots, something has clicked with Eli and he has become a good nfl qb. Over his last 26 games, he has thrown 39 td's to only 16 int's, his completion % is 62% and his passer rating is 90. he HAS become a difference maker and the Giants won't be a complete team without him.

He's playing. He played with a sprained shoulder 2 years ago. All he needs is arch supports in his shoes.
